That just doesn't happen in boxing. Look at Ronda??? She looked like a damn charging bull in her fight. Looked like a complete amateur.
UFC isn't designed for fighters to be on top for long. They need content. Remember they have a PPV and a Fight Night every month. Which means they need at least one major title fight a month. So the champion is fighting a brutal fight every time out basically

and why would they? Networks typically wont pay one source for content when another source is giving it to them for free........

        • Impressive numbers. I thought broner drawing 1.1mill was impressive. Is boxing finally just gaining more viewership/interest? Algeri is not a draw, right? And only boxing heads know about soence jr.

Those numbers are horrific, man. This is NBC primetime. Broner doing 1.1 was impressive cause it's Spike. NBC's previous low was 1.8 for Figueroa Demarco. It's too bad cause it was a good show

Let's be real if money wasn't a factor this time last year this is a under card fight or the headliner of a FS1 or Spike card. PBC also tried to save money by letting go of all the top on air talent from NBC broadcast team. Marv Albert, AL Michaels, Sugar Ray all gone.
Because this is an investment. Al wanted as many people possible to view Spence dominate Algieri. Now the whole boxing world is buzzing about him. 1.4 million viewers on NBC isn't great, but more people watched his fight than they did Crawford, Kovalev or Ward this year.

You best believe that the next time Spence fights, he'll have better ratings.
