Boxing is a niche sport, most of my friends have no idea who anyone NBC is featuring, for the most part most people I know can not name another fighter other then Mike Tyson. These ratings don't lie the majority of fighters out there are in a dreamworld commanding huge salaries for their fights. How is Broner worth over 1 million a fight when well over 320 million American's have no idea who he is or what he does? Although these guys are very talented, right now there is no appetite for their services. That goes for DSG, Thurman, Porter, Wilder, Jacobs, the list can go on forever they all want to be paid the big bucks but they cannot draw flies if they were covered in ****. In any case I love all the extra boxing that has hit the airwaves over the past year but these fighter's will eventually price themselves right off TV and into deeper obscurity.

Nicole Duva clowning PBC bad ratings tweeted.

4/20/2013: Fury vs. Cunningham on NBC in the afternoon averaged 1.2 mil viewers and peaked at 1.67 mil viewers. #FightNight

Mind you they had a much smaller budget and were actually paid by the networks instead of spent millions for air time. And that was daytime not primetime. These are very bad ratings.

how are we giving up FREE great fights for something that we have to pay for that is 100 times less interesting bc it is one sided
yes spence showed it was onsided last night, but he did it vs a guy that beat provo and possibly khan..

i've seen ggg do 1.5 vs monroe...we cant push our sport like that

Fight also only did attendance of 7k at the barclays (which holds 19k). Real bad even worse when you consider all the free tickets PBC is known to just give away. My guess this fight lucky if they sold just 4k tickets.

That's pretty good for a Spence vs Algieri main event.

Then why put a prospect who can't draw ratings or fill up seats as the headliner for you NBC prime time card? Look at the names that headlined these cards just last year. Let's be real if money wasn't a factor this time last year this is a under card fight or the headliner of a FS1 or Spike card. PBC also tried to save money by letting go of all the top on air talent from NBC broadcast team. Marv Albert, AL Michaels, Sugar Ray all gone.

Pointing out facts. If that upsets you that's your problem.

This was good fight. They need fights at the level of thurman vs porter to get good ratings.
