People with this nonsense that the contract just extends forever yet at the exact same time Chavez Jr also top rank contract was offered a 1 fight extension for more money or fight his last fight on his deal for less money each case he would of been a free agent afterwards. Even Chavez former manager admitted this after arum gave the figures he was offered for both scenarios. Garcia had a path to free agency that wasn't the problem. He just wanted more money for his remaining fights while he was still under contract and refused to fight for that amount. No doubt if played out his deal he would of been a free agent much sooner and would not of given up millions along the way.

All that says is that he filed a lawsuit. Do you randomly think anyone who files a lawsuit is telling the truth? Because as far as I am aware, his lawsuit wasn't won in court (though I could be wrong on that), meaning just because he was released from his contract doesn't mean his claims were proven to be true.

I doubt arum got any money. Garcia was always willing to buy out but TR said no, until last year but by then too much time went by. I think garcias stance was that the contract was up

Arum got money to let Chavez Jr go. 50 cent got money to let Ryan Martin out his contract. No way this dragged on this long and arum just released Garcia without getting paid. My guess is in the coming days arum will tell the world know he got paid and likely leak the amount off the record to a couple reporters. That's the old mans style he bragged about getting paid for chavez.

Man, I hope this dude doesn't end up like Gamboa, who battled Arum for his release thinking he'd be better off, but since has had problems staying relevant. Like Arum or not, he has a track record of making stars. most who have battled him in court for releases (except Mayweather and a few others) have had problems with their careers and getting meaningful fights in the aftermath of their release.

Absolutely Arum got paid. It's not a question of if, is more of how much. My guess is a figure between 500k-750k

Well either his contract was up or he paid.

Either way it was a bad decision by Mikey, he lost alot of oaydays in that span, hopfully he will get back and still be the same fighter.

I really wanted to see him fight Crawford and Pac one day though, probably won't happen now.
