I doubt that Arum was paid anything. Arum simply threw in the towel because he knew that he had no leg to stand on and could not win, just as was the case with Chavez Jr. If Arum was being paid off, he could have released Garcia two years ago.

Arum was paid to let Chavez Jr go! After a year holding out fighting it and saying he was a free agent and didn't owe arum anymore fights haymon had to swoop in and pay a settlement to buy out Chavez contract. That's how that saga ended.

I don't think Broner will ever make 140 again. He's just outgrown it. That leaves Crawford (top rank, don't see it happening), postol (not sure who promotes him but he usually fights on HBO), Troyanovsky (IBF). Imam would be a good first fight for mikey. Not a whole lot of names at 140.

Nobody settled. Nobody won. Top Rank released Garcia simply because the contract officially ends 30 months after Mikey won a title against Roman on 11/09/13.

what? haymon's bad advice cost this kid over two years of his prime. that layoff may cost him even more in the ring since he is moving up to 140 instead of fighting his way there.

i saw a video where he said he cost himself like 8 million dollars by not just keeping on fighting.
