He was a bloody good boxer though. Considering he had China hands (he had a solid punch in earlier career and towards the end couldn't even spar) he managed incredibly well with slaps and a monster engine. His slap stats were through the roof. Great chin too.

He might sc**** in to the top 100. Better than all 168ers except Ward (and possibly DeGale if he has a good few more years).
Prime Roy was on another level at SMW.

You must have missed where he's lost 9 times.

I could easily name 50 boxers without much of a second thought.

              Aswell as many more.

Why don't you start by mentioning ten 168lbs fighters who were greater?

                  There isn't 10.

                  What's your point?

There isn't 10 168 lb fighters greater than Sven Ottke either but he isn't in the top 500.

Well, now we're getting at something. There isn't 10 greater 168 lbs fighters than Calzaghe.

Now mention 10 boxers at 160lbs who, P4P, should be ranked higher than Calzaghe. Or 10 175lbs boxers.

Anyways, his best win was over a prime Kessler. Followed by beating the older version of B-Hop. The Roy Jones fight was a sham and should never have been made.

                      1) Calzaghe has a near 70% KO ratio, hardly a soft puncher.

                      2) Hopkins was still P4P top 3 when JC beat him. Feel free to go back and check the lists and this forum if you weren't old enough to watch it at the time.

                      3) Same with Lacy, he was the betting favourite and most people (boxing fans not just casuals) thought he was going to do JC over. Instead he got the **** beaten out of him for every minute of the fight, was destroyed as a fighter and never the same again. It's easy to say with hindsight that Lacy was never any good.
