Except it wasn't "today". Ward wanted a deal for late 2016 after his three fights or whatever. Meanwhile, Golovkin was/still is after Canelo.
That's the thing so many of you don't understand. People keep saying Golovkin could have fought Ward, but literally there wasn't a time when Ward was willing to fight Golovkin (he turned him down in the past and for the extremely brief window that Ward did actually pursue a fight the deal Ward wanted was for a year away!).Comment
