If you get 750 to fight a bum, you think they're gonna go down a couple thousand to fight one of the best (if not the best) in the division? So, of course they want more if they're fighting a bigger name.

$750K is the amount Haymon gives to his top fighters fighting sparring partners. Either HBO is cheap or Haymon has destroyed boxing.

Both of these things seem to be true.

True but it's ironic that in this case the guy that did get 750k for a bum is willing to take 500k for the much more dangerous fight. It's tough, both should get a good bump, but that's a very xeexpensive fight for 2 fws that bring no fans and so so ratings

I doubt fighters look at it as getting more money is destroying boxing. We know HBO can cough up more money, they have in the past.

Yup Lomachenko was definitely overpayed. Considering that Rigondeaux got the same purse to fight a star in Donaire. That being said, Arum already set precedent, so that is on him. Rigondeaux got 750K to fight Donaire. Lomachenko gets 750K to fight bums. Now you expect Walters to take less than a mil to fight Lomachenko? That is bull****. It is a good match up. I want to see it. Walters deserves to get paid though. Lomachenko got mugged by a fat old man. He then gets fed a steady diet of cream puffs, and gets paid top notch. Walters is then lined up to fight Lomachenko, who is no slouch, and you expect him to take the fight for less than a mil. That's Arum's fault. Don't over pay somebody for bums, and then try to pay less to fight a top level guy.

But here it's the guy that's getting too much money for bums that's willing to take a paycut vs Walters. Weird stuff. BTW pretty sure Russell Jr beats Walters' best win at FW, so not all cream puffs. Similar level comp
