Aldo's shown to have one of the best chins in the game for a long time. He simply got caught with a good shot, from one of the sport's hardest punchers. Sometimes you just get caught, it's happens. It's not like it never happened in Boxing before either.

If they had boxing skills, they would be boxers... Do you realize how long it takes to become a professional level boxer.. It's an insult to boxing when you act like mma guys should be proficient in it without any amateur or pro bouts. It takes so much hard work and practice and experience to get to a level of a pro boxer.. To think an mma guy can just train in it and become "skilled" is absurd

It's a widely accepted conclusion that had he enough time to get conditioned, Mendez would have finished Connor on the canvas. This is why they wouldn't let Edgar near him last year.

I haven't seen any elite MMartists who didn't have a ground game. Even Cro Cop and Chuck had stellar TDD. Lawler was a gatekeeper until he learned TDD and not all guys are able to pick it up. If McGreggor still hasn't been able to improve with all the TLC and specialized tutoring he's gotten, I have to speculate he'll always have that hole and there will always be guys able to exploit it.
I think most of us have been unsure of how good his ground game was before, but this confirms it. I don't know if I can say that he doesn't have a ground game, because against Mendes he did show that he's got good scrambling abilities. That being said, I think against strong wrestlers, with good top and positional control, he'll have trouble. I wasn't sure who to pick between him and RDA, but after seeing the Diaz fight I'm confident that RDA would be able to eventually take him down and beat him up from the top.

That being said, I do think that he's elite, even with the holes in his game. He still took out two of the best guys at FW in Aldo and Mendes, Aldo's being an east top 10 ATG and the GOAT at 145lb, so far. Now, whether or not he can hold onto that elite status for a longer period of time is a different story. If Aldo's not completely past it, which I'm nervous that he might be, I still think that he has the ability to slow down Conor and beat him.

I agree with you, which is why it pisses me off when Dos santos says he would beat Klitschko in a boxing fight, or mcGregor says he will beat floyd. And the MMA pundits constantly saying how good nate diaz boxing is amazing

Why the hell do people keep spouting misinformation like this?? Diaz is a 155lb fighter and both guys were the same size on fight night, Diaz taller and Connor more muscular. It's not AT ALL like Kahn facing Froch or even Canelo for that Matter.

It's been said. You haven't seen the articles posted here occasionally? Go to any MMA forum (actually don't)and you'll see people actually believing guys like Connor, JDS, etc have legit boxing skills. People were saying Rousey could be a pro boxer "if she wanted" lololol
