He lost to a bum who took the fight on 10 days noticeOf course that had something to do with it, he admitted so. The main thing he said at the presser was that he misjudged his energy expenditure, which was clear in watching the fight. He was loading up looking for a spectacular KO and he gassed.
It's not just that everything was a power shot, he did it with an extra 25lbs of weight on his frame and he burned out much faster than usual. He will learn a valuable lesson from it.
His stock fell, another loss after this will not be good for him or the MMA
Conor should get a boxing coach to teach him how to slip punches. He has some horrible technique, terrible footwork, all round very amateurish.
Conor wouldnt be able to hold his own against a C level boxer.Comment

Nate Diaz had a good win over the littleIrish wimp dwarf Conor
Good win for Nate over little tiny McGregor. Give Conor credit for fighting the much bigger Diaz hard and putting up a good fight till choked out. McGregor needs to stay with the midgets the half pints and the munchkins the dwarfs in the ufc. Imagine h?ow happy Nate is with some cash finally. Both Diaz brothers are the type every father dreads their daughter bring home.Comment

He was scheduled to fight at 155 before his opponent pulled out...so he put on an extra 15lbs of muscle short notice? Yea ok. He was ready to fight at 155...fighting at 170 just made him not have to cut to weigh in...that's about it. Diaz took the fight on 11 days notice, he was at the far bigger disadvantage. He walks at 173 lbs...
He put on muscle in this fight as opposed to rehydrating to 170 ish.
Muscles require more oxygen when you're punching a **** load.
Making 145 is very difficult for him, but I felt 155 would have been a good move.
Giving away 170 gives the opponent an advantage when they asked for 165...Comment

Bingo !
He wasn't used to the weight.
Still a great win for Diaz, he's on top of the world right now.Comment

It's not about punching power, rightly placed punch knocks the brain around the skull and Conor got **** ****ed three times in that round with punches right at the end of the arm extension, square on the side of the jab. Honestly, give Diaz credit if he's not a puncher he landed the right punch three times there.Comment

Oh, Dana was pissed about the Tate win. You could hear it in his voice. I'm not sure about the McrGegor fight but definitely the Tate-Holm fight.Things like this will only help MMA.
When Holly Holm lost I thought Dana White was probably going to be pissed off, because the Holm-Rousey 2 would have been huge. Then I thought about it a little more and the UFC will now get at least two big fights instead of one. Now the Holm-Tate rematch becomes interesting and the winner can face Rousey or they can potentially meet a third time.
It was obvious that McGregor would take losses, but people are still going to want to see him. He's entertaining. That simple.
People keep thinking MMA is taking L's when in reality they are taking W's. People are going crazy over this event and everything happening in that sport. UFC is bigger than the fighters, just remember that. UFC may the best promoter in any sport right now. They do a great freaking job at getting people hyped. Boxing could learn a few things. Instead Boxing is a close-minded sport.
Just an opinion.Comment
