Of course it affects the hype. Dude was going around talking the kind of smack that you can only do if you're not gonna get beat anytime soon. Just like Broner was. It's using the Floyd template without being able to back it up.

You can laud the unpredictability of UFC but that sport pays it fighters peanuts and burns them out.

Is it really like that? Because word is McGregor is 177lbs, I highly doubt Mayweather walks anything above 155lbs. So actually Floyd moving up to 175 is no where near a comparison to McGregor who weighs 177, cutting 7lbs. Actually McGregor just fought the equivalent, in weight disparity, that Floyd fights at 147 when everyone rehydrates. When Floyd fought guys like Ortiz, Canelo, Corrales, Castillo, they had 13-15lbs on him.

I genuinely don't think this loss will hurt him too much.

He fought 25lbs above where he usually does and I don't think he took the extra weight into account, he gassed considerably after 6 minutes and paid the price. He was toying with Diaz but when you get tired, everything changes.

Mcgregor was fighting a 155lb fighter at 170lb, so it'd be like Mayweather fighting Lara at 160-168. Except Diaz wasn't as highly rated as Lara.
