Because Ward outpointed Froch at 168 5 years ago? Get real man.

You're an idiot kafkod. The reason Golovkin ducked Ward was because he couldn't beat him. If he had confidence in his abilities he would of easily taken $2M to take Ward's WBA and lineal title at 168 including recognition as the undisputed #1 P4P fighter in the world. The reason Golovkin fought Lemieux instead is because he wanted easy money for an easy fight. Golovkin doesn't want to challenge himself. He's a coward.

Their is no clear favorite in this fight, but Im leaning towards Ward. Gotta see him in with a true lightheavyweight....skill wise though I definitely favor Ward

Kovalev is no joke and a very skilled boxer puncher. He does lack head movement and those shots he took from Pascal resonate in my head, who while explosive isnt very active, consistent with his punch output or as Accurate as Ward

I slightly favor Ward but its basically 50/50...Kovalev has a far better chance at getting Ward out of their before the skills pay the bills. I cant wait to see this fight
Would be an interesting one for sure but i agree with you, need to see him vs. Barrera to know what he has at light heavy.

Ward hasn't faced anyone like Kovalev, but the same could be said about Kovalev.

I favor Kovalev, he also is a good boxer... his punches are extremely straight, surprisingly him and Ward are the same size but he has the power advantage. Ward might be the better boxer, but the same as Ward Kovalev has never been truly outboxed as a pro (i didn't see the Boone fight so i don't know how that went). Competition wise this is the best fight you can make this year, along with Lomachenko vs. Walters (or Rigo).

thats why I cant wait...agreed....those 122 guys running from Rigo...vs Loma that would pit two of the greatest amatuers of all time...its a shame how Rigo has been blackballed for beating Donaire

The original topic of this thread was that Ward was too good, and offered too little in terms of reward, to get fights in his own division.

So how the fuck would it make any sense for Golovkin to move up to Ward's division just to fight him?

If Andre is as good as you say he is, Golovkin would be crazy to even think about doing that, without getting a catchweight or a better share of the purse than 50%

true, but that Loma fight was on the table and Rigo rejected it, it wasn't crazy big money but i think it was something comparable to his regular purse (500k). That fight should have take place... and i hope it still can
