How am I lying? There is a deal in place that Golden Boy/Canelo have 15 days to to accept the Golovkin fight after Khan or drop the belt/get stripped. This is the deal brokered by the WBC between Golden Boy and K2. Obviously they don't literally have a set date, venue, and contract in place to fight. Follow along.

    • Very embarrassing if they even consider fighting Hopkins.
A disgrace if they are in advanced talks.

Ha a deal in boxing implies they have agreed to fight. But you know that they have not but you guys use Canelo to excuse Golovkin ducking everyone.

They aren't currently in talks. Loeffler said after Wade, obviously they are trying to make the Canelo fight, their mandatory. If for whatever reasons that doesn't happen they will go after the other belt that Saunders has. If that fails they will go after Danny Jacobs, since he's the "regular" champion and a good fight being that he KOd Quillin. If and when all of those fights fail, then and only then would they entertain the idea of Hopkins.

If you follow along it should be implied exactly what I was referring too. Who the hell is he ducking by using Canelo?? Lara? lol be real man, they wanted Canelo he wasn't ready so they went after another title unification in Saunders, he flat out refused so their stuck having to settle for their IBF mandatory fight. What num nuts was saying is he should drop his belts now and move up in weight, knowing damn well they are banking on a unification fight later in the year. Not a smart plan at all, unless DeGale or someone like that is a super mega fight.

You Golovkin fans are the biggest bunch of cowards ever. Always an excuse for his bum fights.

Context is important here, Mayweather didn't have much negotiating room when he faced De la Hoya because he wasn't the A side. Once he earned the A advantage he utilized it to the fullest.

                  • Hopkins comes down 8 pounds, GGG moves up 8 pounds. GGG proposed to moved up 4 pounds and have Ward move down 4 pounds but Ward doesn't know how to compromise and decided to move up to his natural weight of 175.

Easy, one guy is fair while the other is selfish and picking on smaller opponents.

Yea right

what fighter you know, who had a career threatening injury, doesnt have a tune up, especially with the lay off he had....you cant be slow.

As far as getting crucified in the ring....Did Hopkins get kayo'ed? Ward is just as skilled, younger, faster, better combinations, better jab and hasnt lost sense he was 14 years old....if you think he is gonna just lay down when this guy has fought his whole life, you need to re-evaluate somethings
I'm not sure what part of my post says anything about Kovalev not being more dangerous for Ward, that goes without saying. As for the matchup itself, Ward will have a good size and reach advantage to make full use of his boxing and grappling skills. GGG will have a tough time, but well schooled Russian boxers deal with slick fighters pretty damn well, so I suspect he will find some ways to land.

A tune up is fine. Ward hasn't had a meaningful win in over 4 years. Every big fight that comes up is prefaced with "a couple more tune ups first". His competition over the last 4 years is worse than GGG's. Obviously he needs to ease his way in, but how many years and how many fringe contenders does he need to eat before he is back at the top level of competition? I'm hoping within a year.

Ward is better than old man Hopkins in almost every way, but Hopkins is as experienced and cagey as a fighter can be, has a great chin AND most importantly, he didn't fight to win. He fought to survive. I fully expect Ward to come to win, that is exactly why he is going to get knocked out.
