97k for ppv says otherwise...fans are tired of watching GGG fight mismatches and mis-mandatories.....we expect the same from everyone else he is no different
His PPV numbers were weaker than expected, but he does fill up stadiums and has a buzz around him. You can talk around it, but it is obvious who has momentum and who needs who more. GGG is chasing a big money unification against Canelo, which is a bigger and more exciting fight than Ward (although obviously not as challenging). Ward is looking for a quick fix for his stagnant career while he fights tune up after tune up, and his best options are GGG and Kovalev. Unfortunately for him, his alternative to GGG is being crucified in the ring.

By the way, I like Ward. He is a great guy. Doesn't change the facts.

But unfortunately we are living in a time when no longer are catchweights simply a means to make a fight between two fighters in two different weight classes, instead they are being used so that a particular fighter can create an advantage just for him, like Canelo for example who is not fighting at 155 pounds in order to make big fights, he's fighting at 155 pounds because it's the most comfortable weight for him and on top of that, he's now defending his lineal middleweight belt at his own made up weight class and requiring future opponents, from welterweight to middleweight, fight him at his weight class.

For a guy who pretends to care so much about boxing history, it's funny that you are perfectly ok with this absolute fuckery and joke that our sport is becoming, where it's no longer about the sport itself it's now about everyone trying to become the "A-Side" and what kind of A-side money & A-side demands they can make.
simply put I want to see him fight better opponents than Wade, Rosado, Monroe's etc....Lemmy was good but instead of capitalize on fighting on ppv 1 fight before, he faces a no name.

Come on man, there are plenty of fighters at 154-168 that would fight him but boxing has become minimal risk for maximum reward....GGG is a good fighter and I like watching his fights....it would be nice to see him in with an elite fight or he can move up and fight Degale or Jack

I dont expect anything else from him than I do from any other fighter...also if you are gonna force feed the public how good a fighter is, at least have him fight elite fighters so we'll know how good he really is....he is going on 34 and there are fighters younger with less fights who have fought better competition and they are no where near anyones p4p list or getting a ton of hype from HBO.....I can see why Chocolatito gets hype...look at his resume...then look at GGG's and it doesnt make sense at all

Kovalev is more proven than GGG and bigger, stronger with comparable skills....he is a bigger threat than GGG is to Ward...anyone with a brain knows that...IMO GGG has no chance versus Ward and would get thoroughly outboxed....Ward is better than GGG at everything besides power....thats the only thing that might the fight intriguiing to some...outside of that what was he gonna do, outbox Ward? Yea right

what fighter you know, who had a career threatening injury, doesnt have a tune up, especially with the lay off he had....you cant be slow.

As far as getting crucified in the ring....Did Hopkins get kayo'ed? Ward is just as skilled, younger, faster, better combinations, better jab and hasnt lost sense he was 14 years old....if you think he is gonna just lay down when this guy has fought his whole life, you need to re-evaluate somethings

Like Canelo? Who he's actively trying to fight (they have a deal to fight next after their upcoming bouts).

Like Saunders, a title unification fight, in which Saunders flat out rejected.

So that leaves his mandatory fight. You understand that right? In order to get around a mandatory is to have a unification fight (Canelo or Saunders), both declined so he has to fight Wade. This is how the IBF works (see Tyson Fury).

Dude, everyone wants him to fight an elite fighter, Golovkin wants to fight an elite fighter, K2 wants him to fight an elite fighter, he's been trying to fight elite fights. How many times does it need to be explained to you? Sergio Martinez said no. Cotto said no. Canelo wants more time. Froch said no. Ward rejected a golovkin fight a couple years ago and most recently, when he contacted GGG after the Lemieux fight was announced, he wanted a deal to fight sometime late 2016 (a year away contract). So literally he hasn't had a chance yet to fight an elite fighter. He's trying and hopefully will in Canelo after the Khan/Wade fights. Until then there isn't a damn thing he can do but fight his mandatory.

Ward ducked the GGG fight in 2013 at 168 when it was offered to him.

In 2015 Loeffler said if Ward wants 50% money he has to meet GGG at the middle in weight as well, since GGG shifted his priorities on unifying the division and Ward has become an inactive has been fighter without fans.

Hopkins last fight was at LHW. GGG wants to unify MW titles and he would only fight Hopkins if there is no other good opponent at 160 willing to fight GGG. Ward didn't even try to negotiate until GGG had a PPV lined up and was mandatory for GGG/Cotto winner and said he wants to concentrate on 160 unification.

GGG would meet Hopkins in the middle same as he would have met Ward in the middle, but his priorities will always be at 160 if the other champions actually stop ducking him.

Benard hopkins is a 51 year old fighter that hasn't fought in a year and a half.

he has never fought at 168 and he hasn't fought below 175 in almost 10 years.

this is a cherry pick for ggg. Don't try and spin it any other way.

its called prize fighting genius...they fight for the money, entertaining is nice but at the end of the day legacy and fans dont pay bills, raise kids, or take care of you when you're punch drunk

Just because I dont agree with how the game is doesnt mean Im oblivious to how it works

GGG should man up and fight someone with a pulse....not a geriatric old man when there are plenty of fighters who'd fight him from 154-168...its all about who his team wants to put him in with.

They are trying to build him as a star and monster without having to fight elite fighters and fans and the public are smarter than that...its put up or shut up time and he is going on 34 years old

It's not Ggg that's pushing for this fight, it's the last resort for him. Hop wants it, and his buddies at GBP are not talking sense into him cause they need a human shield for Canelo

anybody with common sense knows its a cherry pick...a recognizable name, past prime and ripe for the picking...coming off a loss and inactivity

2 words.....MOVE UP!!!!! Thats what every other so called boogeyman or avoided fighter did.....seems to me K2 is happy making money off him fighting no hopers because casual fans or his hard core fans will eat it up whether the opponent is good or not as long as they see a ko

Trolling is a person on the Internet who nas nothing but negatives things to say about a person or a subject....for instance a person could jump into a fire rescue 5 kids and a dog and that troll would still find something to criticise ....just negative things to say because they don't like them....you don't troll you just say what's right and speak ur mind for it...nothing wrong with that fella..even if I don't like a particular boxer ..say for example mayweather or broner....I still would not start a thread downgrading a fighter or subject....I will comment on a thread if I think it's wrong. ..but a troll starts a thread just to get a reaction.....thanks for the message fella
