Edit, just checked boxrec and saw that before the bernard hopkins fight JDJ lost to a 9-6-0 fighter... must have been at the tail end of his career so no GTF out of here with this BS. 0 credibility poster strikes again.
Great point. It takes a long time to get the names on your resume and doesn't have a lot to do with talent as much as it does business. I yawned about many of Hopkins' opponents in the '90s. The haters want to compare where he is now with GGG who has been in the game a third of the time Hopkins has. They need to look at facts first.

Unfortunately, when it's all said and done, history doesn't care about who you tried to fight.

They only care about who you fought. Like I said, GGG can win all the belts in the world by default if he likes. 40 years from now when ESPN is doing a "Boxing Classic's" episode and they show GGG vs Rubio/Monroe, don't say anything.

JDJ holds a W over Reggie Johnson - which is a better win than ANYONE on Bumlovkin's resume.

        Pre-Trinidad Hopkins > Bumlovkin

        ...and it aint even close.

You Bumlovkin nut guzzlers really out to keep Bernard Hopkins' name out of your mouths. The Triple Duck just doesn't measure up to the Ole' Man...

ok so basically at the time Glen Johnson didn't did nothing... and JDJ in his prime beat a good fighter... so what you are saying is if GGG fought Hopkins and beat him he should get all the credit in the world because Hopkins is an ATG even though he has one foot out the door... NSB logic... smh

edit- actually Enzo Maccarinelli has ATG resume... he beat RJJ didn't he. and RJJ is an ATG that's for sure.

Like I said, Pre Trinidad Hopkins' resume takes a HUGE dump on Bumlovkin's. The Ole' Man has the JDJ and the Glenn Johnson wins - and *nothing* the Triple Duck has done can top those.

Its sad that alot of fighter in his division are duking him by pricing themself out or trying to drain him to a new division. GGG will have to make decisions pretty soon. Moving up or stay there waiting on these guys to grow a pair...
The thing is, even if he moves up to 168, i doubt any of those guys really want him either. He is doing what he is supposed to do right now, daring any middleweight that has a pair to get in the ring with him, and then knocking them the f**k out. If the guys who have openly ducked him in the past few years (Sturm, Martinez, Cotto, Quillin, etc) got in the ring with him we wouldn't be having this conversation. Boxing is a f**ked up sport...especially these days. a ducked fighter can potentially go his whole career without ever facing someone "elite". GGG has been the WBA champion for years now and has 15 title defenses!!...It is disgraceful that none of the top guys have had enough self-belief to try to take it from him. They have had more than enough time.

Why is this thread? lol what a ****** topic from a ****** poster, as if there's some huge group of people going around saying he's a hall of fame fighter right now. I swear, some of you people come up with the lamest crap to criticize Golovkin for. As of today he's not a hall of fame fighter? Wow what a chump! He should commit suicide how can he even live with himself! He also has NEVER won a Nobel prize OR won an Oscar or even a Golden Globe for that matter! Disgrace.

i agree with you, i was just responding to you because you said that team ggg is cool with winning the belts by default which i don't think they are but what else can they do? they try making the fights offering big money to other champion in BJS and trying to make the other fight with Canelo. Ultimately once GGG has all the belts (if he wins... we talk about it like its a forgone conclusion but he is still fighting top fighters in his division) then everyone has to go through him and that's where he will build up his resume... as max kellerman said who is Golovkins Roberto Duran (referring to how everyone was ducking Hagler, and Duran opened up that flood gate). I get the feeling that GGG knows he wants to be a life long middleweight, his size and frame fit the division well... but he doesn't get his Duran then he might have no choice but move up and fight the big boys at 168.
