Who cares? He's career isn't over. What is sad is that he could have had Chavez jr, Froch, Ward, Canelo, Quillen and many others in his resume but they all ran from the fight at one point.

Well considering his dominance, I think beating Canelo could give him the nod. Keep in mind, this guy has barely lost a round, if at all, in his reign. He has been the epitome of dominant.
But what the hell is your point anyway? He's not going to retire. I imagine he'll fight on for years to come if he's healthy.

History won't remember "da belts doe".
History will remember who you fought for those belts and their status "at the time".
The fact that Team GGG is cool with winning "da belts doe" by default in the prime of his career says how his career will play out.

Edit, just checked boxrec and saw that before the bernard hopkins fight JDJ lost to a 9-6-0 fighter... must have been at the tail end of his career so no GTF out of here with this BS. 0 credibility poster strikes again.

We're jumping the gun a little here. Don't you think?
GGG is a young 35 since he has never taken a beating and turned pro late.
I have heard him say nothing of retirement.
His big fights are right around the corner. An Alvarez showdown is imminent. I don't see him getting old in his next five or even ten fights and a lot can happen in ten fights- Canelo, Saunders, Jacobs, Lara, Quillen and more.
All of the guys he has beaten have been ranked and have been dangerous. They just aren't the names the haters are looking for(let's face it. if he did beat the names, that wouldn't matter to most of them either.)
Beyond that, how do other fighters compare at this current place in their careers and I don't mean age. Canelo is about at the same point, but he's been getting fights with the names. No one has been ducking him. And now, fights with him are quite lucrative. So people want to fight him for the money which means he gets his pick more or less. Roman Gonzalez has managed to get a few names on his ledger, but nothing earth-shattering.
Often times, the ten-year point is the breakout point for a guy with no serious promotion pre-debut. It takes a while to build a name. Unfortunately for GGG, he was building his name in a division that didn't like what they saw in him. I really wish Martin Murray would have gotten the nod over Martinez. I don't see him ducking anybody and we know what would have happened and GGG could probably have more names wanting to fight him now.
But from what I have seen, very few Hall of Fame careers were decided after ten years and 35 fights. A few have, but I think GGG has a long way to go before we even bring up retirement.

Johnson's resume defecates and urinates on the resumes of ANY of the TOMATO CANs Bumlovkin has knocked over. Period, end of...
Originally posted by Irony123 View PostI don't know enough about John David Jackson though so maybe he was more significant... maybe some one else can give more insight on JDJ.
Pre-Trinidad Hopkins > Bumlovkin
...and it aint even close.
You Bumlovkin nut guzzlers really out to keep Bernard Hopkins' name out of your mouths. The Triple Duck just doesn't measure up to the Ole' Man...
