I wouldnt have complained if it wasnt made but then again why propose a fight if the fighter or their team wont compromise so it has to be somebody's fault

if you want to make the money and get the notoriety...it would have been his fault but he was smart enough to fight him at a reasonable catchweight and it couldve been at 150 at an earlier time.


GGG's team wants him to be a star without having to pay dues like everyone else, and sadly no one is going to allow that to happen except HBO....the other fighters teams, networks and the fans are getting a little worn out with the mismatches and no name opponents for GGG...he doesnt have many good options

yes and 152 was a compromise when a 147 floyed fought a 154 Canelo. 155 isn't a compromise when a 155 (or 160 lb champ) is asking for 155 from a 160 lbs fighter in golovkin.

edit - to add to that fight night floyed was what 150-155 lbs and Canelo was 170 lbs? not sure either way Canelo outweigh floyed significantly so you can see the logic of why floyed asked Canelo to go down 2 lbs. Whats the logic behind Canelo bringging GGG down 5 lbs? Canelo will outweigh GGG fight night anyways.

IMO its the opposite.....Now if GGG beats Canelo then I would agree...But right now it would be 90% risk after Ward beating a monster like KOV.

if he was draining himself he'd fight at 160, not 155 genius..If 155 was hurting him he would fight at another weight...I have never seen Canelo look drained in a fight.....wanna see drained....go watch Jones/Tarver 1 and Pac/ODLH...Canelo is in his 20s....if he couldnt make 155 he wouldnt fight there, period

Canelo has never faced anyone bigger than him...the point is, Canelo is the star and calls the shots...GGG's team and his hard core fans have to realize this or just STFU about the fight.


Like I said before...GGG needs Canelo...Canelo will make good money with or without GGG...it sucks....I'd rather they fight at 160, but Id also rather see them go at it @ 155 than not at all...2 reasons why

1)First time Canelo wont be the bigger man

2)First time GGG fights someone who is considered an elite fighter, skillwise.

3) We'd have an undisputed champion...sorry WBOgus titleholder...he not fighting anyone with a pulse any time soon

GGG is going to have to concede something to get that fight...he knows it, we know it... his team and his die hard fans will eat it up whoever he fights. To be the champion you have to beat the champion. No way around that, catchweight or not. Another gift wrapped belt wont do anything for his legacy, pocket, notoriety in the long run.l. After Wade I hope its a better opponent.

1) people who drink a lot can hold their liquor better (people who are used to cutting weight can do it easier) I am not saying that he becomes a zombie, but his advantage outweighs (pun intended) his disadvantages.

2) perpetuating the "he is the star he should call the shots" is whats wrong with boxing and why big fights don't happen.

3) and what if Canelo wins and defends his belt against every middlweight fighter at 155... is that what we all want?

I want for this fight to happen as much as you do if not more, and i want it to be done right. If GGG wins and starts demanding 168 lbs coming to 161 i would call bull****, no one should support that and fans like you make these Diva's feel like they have the right to make a mockery of the sport. No other professional sport does this as far as i know... only boxing.
