whether he was active or not, he still is more proven, is younger and is more well known than GGG

He was a 2004 Gold medallist and lineal champion at 168, undefeated as well

when is GGG going to take a friggin risk?? he is almost in his 40s

I agree with most proven, i disagree with more known. Ward, world wide isn't more know than GGG, in the US its close and if you want to say Ward is more known i can't argue with that but world wide GGG is more known.

Ward has faced the better opposition.

by taking a risk you mean fighting someone who he isn't favorite to beat? and to answer that question is whenever these guys are willing to get into the ring with him, and after beating Canelo (which is a risk) we will see many more people lining up to fight GGG. Just ask yourself... how many fighters did GGG say no to? as far as i know its only one and that was Ward.

Ward vs. GGG 2017... lets make it happen.

Definitely not. Golovkin is much more popular than Ward.

He was a 2004 Gold medallist and lineal champion at 168, undefeated as well
Golovkin won a silver medal in a tougher division in the same Olympics.
Last 3 lineal champs ducked him, 4th wants a catchweight.
        Also undefeated.

        He's 33.

Seriously, you're a good guy, except when it comes to bashing GGG. Then your brain goes haywire.

If anyone didn't think Bumlovkin was ducking Ward then this right here should serve as proof positive. Team Triple Duck wants Ward to move back down to 168 from 175 but they're unwilling to meet Canelo @ 155. How does any of this make sense?

Being known and popular is two totally different things....Mayweather for instance isnt as popular as Pacquaio but he is more well known and people knew who he was before people ever heard of Manny...same goes for GGG and Ward.....Ward has been looked at as a future great and spoke about in the media before anyone could pronounce Gennady Golovkin
            silver is second best

I havent seen a fighter do so little and the networks try to force feed us how great he is...I want to see him dare to be great like any other fighter

            Im a boxing fan

he'll be 34 in April....he doesnt have much time to capitalize on his talent, also his die hard fans are so annoying....I just want him to fight elite fighters before the...oh was old and washed up excuses come into play

when have a bashed him when I repeat the same thing over and over.....he is a good fighter, but his resume doesnt justify the hype....as time goes by and he keeps fighting Wade and Rosado level guys, my feelings are being justified

People get on Wilder about his opposition, I have too....GGG has a thin resume for a fighter supposedly top 3-5 p4p...am I lying...who else has done so little for so much fanfare

If GGG is such a star why did his PPV tank??? No one knows who is, or can pronounce his name outside of us hard core fans...literally no one i talk boxing with knows who he is unless its on this forum

By risk I mean elite fighter....Lemieux is a good fighter and someone his level and up would be great with a varied skill set to see how GGG adapts

weight on Ward vs Canelo. i think we all understand that GGG is smaller than Ward so GGG coming up to meet Ward half way to make it is a fair fight (ward fought at that weight for years), Canelo is literally cutting down maximum amount to make 155, he is the same size as GGG so why would team GGG come in drained to fight someone who is their own size or bigger? where is the logic, usually catch weights are done for two fighters who are not the same size to make it more fair fight... this isn't rocket science. Hey you are 160 i am 175... lets meet half way... or hey you are 155 and i am 160... lets meet at 155 (even though fight night i'll outweigh you). i don't know how else i can explain it... and if you dont see the difference then there is really no point in continuing this conversation.

i didn't say he was a super star... i said he is just as well known in the US as ward and world wide more known.

150k PPV (or even 97k if you want to go with that) > way better than 400k on BET free TV. their HBO numbers are comparable

Ward vs. Edwin Rodriguez 1.2 million
                    GGG vs. Monroe 1.3 million

would you consider Canelo elite? because you know team GGG is trying to force that fight.

Canelo is elite...he also the champion and an established star...sadly GGG and his team are going to have to compromise or concede some things.....if you know you can beat a fighter, go ahead do it and it'll pay off in the long run....Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo, every fighter in history had to concede to the A side...it sucks but its reality

Also his team said he would go to 154 for Mayweather, why not go to 155 to for the biggest star thats near your size? at least if he wins it'll be the last time he'll ever have to
