Loeffler: Ward vs. GGG more realistic if Ward beats Kovalev

If GGG beats Canelo and Ward beats Kovalev this becomes a mega fight. Back in 2012 when he had a meeting with Peter Nelson he gave Nelson a list of 20 possible names and Ward was on the list. That's when Abel said he'd fight anyone from 154-168. It's got to be a big fight in order for Golovkin to take a risk and move outside his weight class and he has to be compensated well. Like when Floyd fought Oscar and Canelo. Team has never disrespected Ward. The criticism of Ward was his inactivity.

Can't watch the video since I'm at work. But how is it more realistic if he wouldn't fight him a 168 and now he's at 175? Ward's team said themselves once they move up they don't plan on going back down, which is why he stayed at 168 for awhile

Because Ward would be a bigger draw and more money to be made. He didn't get into specifics of what weight it would be fought at.

"Ward go up a weight division and beat Kovalev to make the fight bigger. In the meantime, we will keep defending our title against guys like Dominic Wade. Once you go through hell in the boxing ring, drain yourself back to 168 and we can make that fight happen."

This fight will never happen. Ward clearly said he won't return to 168 and GGG won't fight at 172 or so. I think Kovalev will knock Ward out anyway.

Embarrassing, simply embarrassing. A guy who fights the likes of Dominic Wade and Willie Monroe and can't sell more than 100,000 ppvs should not be talking about making fights bigger. I mean, just no.

That's OK. G string will remain undefeated long after Ward has a KO loss to Kovalev on his record.

So you admit he'd be ducking GGG at 164lbs now at 168lbs If Ward can win?
                  Damn!
That's going to hurt Wards resume big time.
