PACs held to higher standards . PAC could win 12 rounds like he did against SSM and clo5ey but the topic of discussion would be PAC didn't ko his opponent?Last edited by hugh grant; 02-01-2016, 07:33 PM.Comment

Floyd only agreed to fight Manny after he was devastatingly KOd by Marquez and out cold for 5 minutes. A KO like that is going to take something away from a fighter and we could see in the Brandon Rios fight which followed that Marquez defeat, Manny couldn't even stop Rios while relatively light hitting Bradley was able to recently.
Had Manny and Floyd fought prime for primer perhaps the outcome would have been different? Some even believe that Manny beat Floyd in the fight regardless.
It has to be said that, for the most part, Manny has faced some very dangerous opposition although there are catchweight issues with De La Hoya and Cotto, he did face Margarito above 147 at a 150 catchweight and that's a fighter who actually sent Floyd into "retirement", similar to how Khan has recently, without even landing a glove on him.
While Khan of course should rightfully considered above them both on the ATG list due to them both avoiding him in recent times, that reality aside, should Manny still be placed above Floyd ATG-wise due to Floyd essentially facing a faded Pacquiao?Comment

There will always be disagreement on these two, depending on:
-- What you value most in a fighter
-- What national, racial and cultural team you identify yourself with
Pac took on bigger challenges than Floyd, especially as a smaller guy. He would take on anybody -- though he also negotiated a few catchweights in his time.
But Floyd never got beat, let alone KTFO'd. Though he also (conveniently?) never seemed to face the type of rangier, busy fighter (Margarito, Williams) that may well have given him issues.
If you like audacious challenges and taking chances, Pacquaio is your man.
If you like real dedication to the sweet science in all its refinement, Floyd is the guy.Comment

morales beat the **** out of pacquiao the first fight.
pacquiao just had the machine behind him morales went on to fight ZAHIR RAHEEM(whom pacquiao CLEARLY DUCKED) at 135lbs and manny pacquiao drained morales BACK DOWN TO 130LBS in order to fight eric morales and you seen the effects also pacquiao faced morales when morales COMING OFF OF A LOSS to ZAHIR RAHEEM.
barrerra wasnt an undefeated fighter but was a good win for pacquiao even tho morales gave him the blueprint to do so.
pacquiao like i said has a c- resume and ALL of his best wins were at CATCHWEIGHTComment

There is also a big myth in manny taking on anybody...you could say manny just like floyd and many other fighters avoided quite a few challenges when "we" thought they should fight them. Zahir raheem, cotto without the cw, Floyd 09 etc. Its a business and top rank is in it to make money.
as far as types of fighters, floyd has fought every type of fighter you can think of in his 20 yr career. Name a type and i'll give you the fighter. Big, small, short, tall, orthodox, southpaw, ko artist, slick fighter, boxer puncher, brawler, counterpunchers etc.
I think in the hype/diva/obession whatever type of attitudes people have for floyd, a lot of this stuff gets missed. He's a really polarizing figure and its just easier to like manny more and down floyds accomplishments. These are two very great fighters that we've gotten a chance to witness. There was a time when a lot of fighters can be accused of ducking floyd.Comment
