  • Should Manny Still Be Placed Above Floyd On The ATG List?

Floyd only agreed to fight Manny after he was devastatingly KOd by Marquez and out cold for 5 minutes. A KO like that is going to take something away from a fighter and we could see in the Brandon Rios fight which followed that Marquez defeat, Manny couldn't even stop Rios while relatively light hitting Bradley was able to recently.

Had Manny and Floyd fought prime for primer perhaps the outcome would have been different? Some even believe that Manny beat Floyd in the fight regardless.

It has to be said that, for the most part, Manny has faced some very dangerous opposition although there are catchweight issues with De La Hoya and Cotto, he did face Margarito above 147 at a 150 catchweight and that's a fighter who actually sent Floyd into "retirement", similar to how Khan has recently, without even landing a glove on him.

While Khan of course should rightfully considered above them both on the ATG list due to them both avoiding him in recent times, that reality aside, should Manny still be placed above Floyd ATG-wise due to Floyd essentially facing a faded Pacquiao?

No. It was 50/50 before they fought but Floyd's clear win puts him ahead.

If Floyd fought Margs at 150 after being destroyed by Mosley you would give him no credit whatsoever.

However, I agree Khan is clearly ahead of both and that's the most important thing.

He should absolutely be placed above Floyd. He did more overall.

Only thing Manny can do is beat Mayweather himself and actually fight a junior middleweight who is RANKED for a title and then he will be close

        Mayweather whitewashed his closest rival...JMM

Fought a better fresher version of Hatton and DLH who fought at 154(noy 147 where he hadnt fought in almost a decade) chose the ring and glove size vs floyd...knocked Hatton out first....fought Cotto at a better weight as well

all the while only having one close fight which was JLC 1

Sadly....Manny will be remembered as second best and nothing is wrong with that...both are ATG

one of the worst title fights in recent history...neither were ever ranked at 154 before or after this fight....Maragrito lost every fight he had over 147 and Pac fought another big name at a cacthweight after a bad beating....no he gets very little credit...irs not about who you beat but about when in their career as well

With Floyd and Manny, I think both resumes are very close without them even fighting.

Both fought Delahoya out of prime - CW for Pac
Both fought Mosley out of prime
Pac fought Cotto in prime - CW for Pac
Floyd fought bloated Marquez, Pac's fights with Marquez are seen to be more legit.

With the resumes being close enough to start with, and Mayweather getting a W over Manny, I would say it's safe to give Mayweather a slightly higher ATG status.

Floyd divides opinion. In some polls he is above pac and below PAC in some others.
Some have Floyd top 10, some do nt have Floyd top 30.

It was pick'em before they fought, but now Mayweather is comfortably ahead.
