He didn't sign any deal to fight Canelo in 12/18 months time. He signed a step aside agreement with Cotto for his mandatory shot at the WBC title and Canelo has been stalling him since then.

Heh, Loeffler is saying pretty much what I've been thinking - 2017. Hopefully he'll have his exposure [Canelo] fight before taking on the next division.

Article also mentions Haymon.. we still have very limited amount of proof that Haymon fighters can co-exist on HBO.

Bro and the step aside stalling and another voluntary will stretch into same time frame they was going build GGG-ward for, and now loeffler saying they not moving off the 160 stance since they mando so he might get stripped then they will discuss weight and things 2017 to make fight happen

Outside of course Ward being a much bigger risk and much lower reward.
How can it be the same thing as the deal with Ward?

You just pointed out 2 important differences yourself!

Another is that Ward wanted him to sign an agreement to move up to 168.

But let's just ignore that, yeah?

Right. And did Golovkin sign a contract which said that all those things were going to happen and then, maybe, he could fight Canelo in 2017?

What's wrong with GGG moving up to 168?

I don't like the contradiction of him going up to 168 for one guy and not another.

I'd appreciate the consistency of him just continuing to campaign at 160 despite the good fights that could happen at 168. Stay put until you either unify the division or take an L.
