Lets face both Wade and Barrera are not good fighters. Both have accomplished very little as pros. Both looked like **** vs. their toughest opponents. In fact Wade is younger, fresher and has a better resume.

Ward is being praised for making a voluntary fight by fighting Barrera who is ranked 23rd in the world at light heavy.

While GGG is being forced by the IBF to fight who is 11th in world. However inbred fans are blaming Golovkin for that fight and not the IBF. Racism still exists in boxing and the double standards are sickening.

golovkin has been ducked by or knocked out basically every top MW of the last 2-3 years. his people are trying to get big fights. tried to get sturm. tried to get pirog. tried to get martinez. tried for cotto. are trying for alvarez now.

ward's still rebuilding his career and tuning up for a PPV fight, and paul smith isn't going to prepare you to fight sergey kovalev. let's face it. that much inactivity can do more to hurt your career than a loss. ward needs to work to get back to where he was, if he can get back there at all.

he has fought 3 times since 2011. it's 2016! didn't fight at all in '14. fought once a year in '12, '13, and '15.




i don't mind either matchup, given the circumstances. i think ward and barrera is the perfect match if you want to ease ward into 175 and tune him up for kovalev. terrific matchmaking. don't watch it if you don't want to

I think some fans are right now feeling like this was a "TRAP" or a "SETUP", they thought Ward vs Barrera wasn't going to happen so they used that to run their mouth, now that it is signed they're somewhat scrambling they even have to resort to ALT Accounts because they would look like hypocrites if they posted this on their regular account

Ward's been fighting at lhw for a year now, how is that even an important point? In fact, Ward, after years of no hopers, haven't fought any one of note, so again, not comparable.

GGG just happens to be in a position where he has to take this fight or forfeit the title.
