Angel's gotten him pretty damn far, but I'm always wary of fathers training sons. I'm not convinced Angel is the best voice in Danny's ear anymore as far as how best to proceed in his career,

But hey, it's worked out so far. Danny's a good fighter who has accomplished quite a bit.

He took over Danny's career when he got out of prison and in the process fucked over several people who had supported Danny to that point. All real Philly boxing people too. He is a dirtbag without a shred of decency.
Really? So Danny learned what he knows from someone else and Angel just kind of came in and took over? When was this?

Angel took him so far. Danny has very good timing and some pop even at 147, maybe not enough to put guys like Thurman, Porter, Bradley away but it will keep them honest.

He showed he has a right hand, especially in round 6 against Ghost. That was a beautiful round for Danny. I wish he fought like that all the time. Sharp, crisp, angles, all dat.

I don't know much about what Angel does in the gym. Maybe he's smart enough to recognize his own shortcomings and delegates certain things. What I do know is that inside the squared circle, he gives good advice and seems to have a great rapport with Danny.

From the Khan fight to last Saturday, watching him in the corner, I see no reason to make a switch. Garcia is 32-0 and is now a two-division champ with a resume that outshines most of his peers'. He is a versatile, young boxer-puncher who fights with the composure of a veteran. How anyone can think Angel has nothing to do with that is beyond me.

So are we forgetting Herrera and Lamont or are we going to blame that on weight?

If he's so wise, why not move up after Herrera beat him?

He had some tough fights at the end of his reign at 140 and you can make the case that he should have moved up earlier. But you know what? Those fights help Danny, not hurt him. He's faced adversity and did again on Saturday night only he actually applied his experience better than Guerrero did.

My point isn't that Angel is "so wise" so I don't understand what you're trying to say. Can you argue that his corner advice and rapport with Danny in the corner have been detrimental?
