My point isn't that Angel is "so wise" so I don't understand what you're trying to say. Can you argue that his corner advice and rapport with Danny in the corner have been detrimental?

Style wise, Ghost is made to order for Danny. His legs looked better, against a plodding come forward fighter.

He set up some traps, showed he had a right hand but once again, another world class trainer can take him to another level. Danny is still young, he can learn something.

I won't argue against that. Sure someone better than Angel will likely do a better job than him. You can make that case for everyone. Really has little to do with what I initially said.

          No.

Angel is much more than just his trainer, he promotes Danny's fights with his mental antics and thanks to that takes some pressure off his son who can focus on what he does best: fighting, not fighting and promoting. All those things aside, Angel is also a pretty good trainer, that's the diffrence beetwen Garcias and other father-son teams like Eubanks for example.

Boxing wise, I don't think Garcia will change, we've seen that he has problems with movers and I don't think at this stage he could learn how to properly cut the ring off his opponents or to use his jab more often, those are things you learn on your first day in the gym, not when you're an established pro.

Even if he could, he probably wouldn't be as successful as he is now because Angel is more than just his trainer.

People hate Danny because he's a Haymon fighter and because he's beaten their favourite fighters but he keeps proving them wrong. If there's a fighter I''d compare Garcia to it's Froch: not very talented but very hard worker and always finds a way to win.

He will get beaten, that's for sure, but he will give us many good fights at WW and he hasn't said his last word yet.

The hate for Danny and Angel is strong.

If you were a multi millionaire, undefeated world champion and you father trained you from childhood would you consider dumping him?

Just because someone suggested in on NSB?

Like someone else mentioned, they should bring a second trainer. but it might come down to the $$. If they bring in a second trainer that's at least 10% less danny gets to keep.

Why not bring in a fresh mind with new ideas? Danny obviously has some legs, why didn't he use them in Herrera, Lamont bouts.

Did it take Angel this long to incorporate this into his arsenal? And let's not get it twisted, I don't really care for Danny and I'm not a Lucas fan either.

                My eye doe.

did i not call you clueless about boxing last time you suggested this ?

i mean, really. i can't think of anything i'd suggest less. not only is angel the guy who has guided his career since he was an amateur, it is his father!

"well, we're getting the decisions and making solid money. let's go ahead and fire dad! who cares if we ruin the family and that it would contribute very little to danny's career! a guy on NSB thought it was a good idea!"

training a boxer isn't like formatting a VCR. boxers are trained with muscle memory. you don't show boxers how to do things in a few weeks. you train them so their bodies don't know how to do anything else. you turn athletic / boxing moves that are completely unnatural [it is not natural to keep your head up and ready for punishment when somebody is trying to take it off,] into automatic outputs. you cannot teach a grown man to do away with all of that training in a sinlge training camp, or even several years. fighters are made in their youth and early in their pro careers.

angel taught danny how to fight. he's a very good trainer. he does give good advice in the corner, and he's prepared danny to be a very solid boxer and counterpuncher. no trainer is going to make danny faster, make his arms grow longer, etc.

his training got them to where they are today, which is rich and near the top of the heap at WW. danny's game doesn't have any glaring flaws that his trainer has clearly ignored, the way some of the other fighters who have benefitted from a trainer switch from a family member have done.

cotto is a good example of this, though his uncle did train him well. he had a huge gap in his defense, and the guy who took over when his uncle left was hardly even a trainer, and couldn't fix it. then he got with roach and steward, who eventually taught him how to deal with stuff through the center.

Are we really going to ingnore how Herrera and Lamont undressed Danny? 'He was cutting weight doe'

This is Danny's recent significant fight since Lucas.

Where was Angels corrections then? He lost to Herrera, faced another mover in Lamont and lost that one too
