Angel is much more than just his trainer, he promotes Danny's fights with his mental antics and thanks to that takes some pressure off his son who can focus on what he does best: fighting, not fighting and promoting. All those things aside, Angel is also a pretty good trainer, that's the diffrence beetwen Garcias and other father-son teams like Eubanks for example.

Boxing wise, I don't think Garcia will change, we've seen that he has problems with movers and I don't think at this stage he could learn how to properly cut the ring off his opponents or to use his jab more often, those are things you learn on your first day in the gym, not when you're an established pro.

Even if he could, he probably wouldn't be as successful as he is now because Angel is more than just his trainer.

People hate Danny because he's a Haymon fighter and because he's beaten their favourite fighters but he keeps proving them wrong. If there's a fighter I''d compare Garcia to it's Froch: not very talented but very hard worker and always finds a way to win.

He will get beaten, that's for sure, but he will give us many good fights at WW and he hasn't said his last word yet.

Not in style or anything, but Garcia has always made me think of Bradley. Both win fights most think they won't, both are overachievers, both have lots of flaws but a huge will to win, but both seem to fight to the level of competition.

those fights were not undressings. they were close. i'd have to go back through and score them, and i do remember thinking that the challengers could have gotten the nod, but the idea that danny was getting destroyed [undressed] is fanboy logic. herrera can't break an egg, and danny has a very good chin. i've been watching herrera for a long time. every fight he's in looks like that, win or lose, and you can't complain too much when you leave that much to judges to interpret because your punches clearly lack meaning. and peteson was booed quite a bit early in teh garcia fight because he wasn't doing much. he came on strong late, which leaves an impression opeople / casuals who are watching the fight without really scoring it the way you score a boxing match, which is round by round.

I didn't read that long article. Garcia is flawed, clearly. A new trainer, with Angel holding the spit bucket will suit will. JDJ, Roach, Virgil to take him to that NEXT level. He has it, just have to coach it.
