Oh I absolutely agree they should try but I say for Jacobs and not Lara..unless they want a common opponent with Canelo....

Lara is a good fighter but he has no fan base, no home, and never won a big fight beside Trout impressively. Jacobs is the hot name, they should try to get him for the spring.

        Shake my head, these fans.
GGG can move up to super middleweight and weigh in at whatever he wants. He can come in at the exact same size he does for middleweight fights. His opponents would just be bigger.

GGG doesn't strike me as one of those guys. He's a good puncher. A very good puncher. But to me he's not a guy that you're afraid that if you make a mistake, he's gonna put your lights out. He's more of an accumulation guy.

As for your assessment of Lara and Jacobs when as it pertains to opponents for GGG. Boxing isn't all about power homie. There's a reason why generally, the top of the is usually littered with guys that aren't big punchers. A great boxer generally beats a great puncher. I think GGG-Lara would cpme down to a very good big man beating a very good little man. But at the same time, Lara brings a helluva lot more to the table for GGG to worry about than Jacobs. Its not even close.
You don't think Jacobs can box?

Another thing is Lara offers nothing that will keep GGG honest and off him. Canelo was literally running after and chasing Lara. Lara rarely kept Canelo off him via fire power, but actually his feet. Lara could barely keep Angulo off him. Whereas, Jacobs will keep GGG honest because of his fire power. Once GGG is honest, Jacobs has the ability to also outbox GGG.

Whereas with Lara, GGG will cut the ring and outside of literally running away, there's nothing Lara can do.

I thought he beat Paul Williams rather impressively. I also scored the Canelo fight about 8-4 Lara.

Can GGG cut the ring off against one of the few fighters that can actually move for 12rds? Can he cut the ring off against a guy who's natural style is to box and move? GGG looks awesome cutting off the ring against guys that aren't natural movers. Whi are moving because they can't deal with the incoming. Lara is a different beast. True test to GGG's ability to cut the ring off.

I think Monroe Jr is comparable to Lara in footwork.

If Lara is a 10, Monroe Jr. is at least a 9. To take it a step further, I don't think Lara has the inside game like Monroe Jr.

But still, let's say GGG can't cut the ring; if that's the case, I don't see Lara boxing and countering with punches. If GGG can't cut the ring, it's because Lara is literally running away like he did with Canelo.

Whereas Jacobs can actually box himself and counter with enough fire power to also hurt and get GGG out of there.

Come on bruh. Monroe is an ESPN fighter. Lara is a fringe P4P guy. That's like saying Adrien Broner is comparable to Floyd because he shoulder rolls. Its two completely different level of fighters.
