Dunno, heard it here from numerous Floyd fans, how he beat then p4p #3 Chico. At worst he was #5, above many better, more qualified fighters:

Yeah. He was elevated after a stoppage of undefeated champion Robert Garcia. Never #3 tho.

Thought so. 5-8 range seems about right. At that particular point in time.

Corrales was lower top ten off and on until his decline after Castillo 1 from 2000-2006...he won titles at 2 weights n with wins over el cepillo, jlc, popo, garcia, gainer, etc he earned it....was exciting and knocking mfers out

I always thought it was a possibility, but never cared enough to check.

As you can see from the link above, Corrales was #5 p4p with 4 belt defenses and a thin resume. The difference is, the p4p ranks were much stronger then.

A thin resume that was better than GGG's is now. So...

That's not so clear. Ggg has 7 Ring top 10 scalps, Corrales had 3? Ggg dominant in his division, Corrales not so much. To make up for all this you'd have to argue Garcia was an outstanding win but history would prove you wrong

People want to see if Floyd can and his fans are more worried for the zero than Floyd. So they say GGG hasn't achieved anything, and thats why it isnt worth floyds tlme? That's how cheeky they are!
He's already proved himself by beating the guy everyone thought would beat him - Manny - he's pushing 40, let the guy enjoy the rest of his life.

Bernard Hopkins when he was #10 in 2000.
