Ive made appreciation threads, Hall fame threads, p4p, all types not involving GGG which get no further than the 2nd page.....even started a series called when fighers illustrated the term "one great fight left"

there are more casual fans on this site than hard core ones like you and I and only thing it takes is to mention one fighters name and people get up in arms and post
The problem is there is too much groupies. Itd not even being a hardcore. I think most of ppl here are hardcore but they lose their head when u say something negative abt their favorites. I like GGG. I love offensive style fighter. I think he deserves a spot in the P4P list but not top 5 thats for sure.

When I look at the P4P list right now I find it kind of weak.

Canelo deserves a place but I kind of dont like his stance on the GGG fight. U got to admit alot of these guys are ducking him.

I'm a GGG fan, but it's a legitimate question. Perhaps it's because he passes the eye test, but that shouldn't matter. You can argue that top fighters don't want to fight, but that's irrelevant as well. I believe he is the best MW, and I believe in his talent, but I highly question his P4P status. I believe he has the talent of a top P4P fighter, but he needs to beat better competition.

But Floyd will duck GGG, because seeing GGG destroy everyone has him worried real bad. If u think Floyd was intimidated seeing PAC ko people can u imagine how fearful he is of a man who puts 160 guys to sleep?
Come on man im far from a Floyd fan but to say hes ducking GGG is just crazy. The guy is retired and is a WW. Why would he fight a MW?

He's retired? He don't have to if he wants to achieve something people don't think he can!

People want to see if Floyd can and his fans are more worried for the zero than Floyd. So they say GGG hasn't achieved anything, and thats why it isnt worth floyds tlme? That's how cheeky they are!

How in the world is GGG ranked so high when guys Like Amir Khan, Danny Garcia, Tim Bradley, Takashi Uchiyama, Shinsuke Yamanaka, Adonis Stevenson etc. not on the list when they have fought better competition

Estrada is lower and is a two division titlist and has beaten more champions than he has

Canelo and Rigondeaux also are rated under him by boxingscene and other publications even though they are the PROVEN man in their divison and have defeated and faced stiffer competition
Your post is all muddled. You're claiming p4p should be based on the better wins, or being the best in the respective division, right? But then go on to say that Golovkin isn't the champion, when that clearly isn't the same thing.

You've mistaken lineal for the best. P4P SHOULD be based on being the best, which Golovkin clearly is at middleweight. So saying Canelo is the 'PROVEN man' of his division really needs qualifying, a LOT on your behalf. He may be lineal, but lineal doesn't necessarily mean best (and never has). If anything, its Golovkin who is the proven man of the division. You aren't the best middleweight unless you beat him.

But I agree with the premise of the post, despite the clear flaws. Golovkin is far overated compared to others - BUT you have to respect that he is absolutely dismantling everyone he is facing, literally walking through them. I wouldn't rank him so highly, but you can't disregard this fact. Khan can be easily ranked below because of his (devastating) losses and mediocre recent 'run'. Yamanaka lost a lot of momentum with his fight with Moreno. Garcia's recent opponents leave a lot to be desired, and he arguably lost to Peterson/Herrera. Canelo has been fighting smaller guys, and two of his best wins (and guys of a similar size) arguably beat him too. Uchiyama, my favourite fighter by far, hasn't fought a decent opponent in quite a while. Bradley should be ranked higher, Estrada sure. I think you can kinda see my point though. Its not as clear cut as you make it sound

It does not surprise me. 3/4ths of the GGG traffic on this sight is from some guy that dislikes him or his fans who is trying to toss some already brought up spin on the subject. They then complain that 3/4s of the topics are on GGG. It is some circular argument of negativity LOL

Face the music....GGG is a contender with belts

To be the champ, you beat the champ

I was a huge Roy Jones fan...my fav of all time IMO he was better, but dariusz michaelcewski was the champ at 175...Jones beat better comp but DM beat who he had to , to get all the belts before being stripped

Middlweight has lineage that started with bhop then Taylor then pavlik then Martinez then cotton now canelo
