If I was Billy Joe Saunders, I would try to haggle for a higher amount, but take it if they decided not to budge at the final moment.

$3.2 million is going to be the biggest payday of his career by far, and there is no guarantee he will fight Canelo (the only other bigger payday). If he doesn't take this fight, he loses out on the chance to make big money.

But if he takes it, he's set. Remember, there's no guarantee he holds onto this strap, and no guarantee he fights Canelo. There is no other fight he will make this kind of money, unless he moves up and keeps beating decent names.

I don't think Canelo cares about any other title than the WBC and he may be fine with dropping it. In the past he rejected fighting for other titles like Lara's WBA belt and rejected the opportunity vs Angulo to fight for the WBC interim/Silver belt.

I could see Alvarez fighting Rosado or Heiland at a 157lbs CW in May, then rematching Cotto in September, saying it's worth more money than Golovkin.

Saunders vs Eubank won't pay anywhere near what Golovkin's offering. Their first fight was an undercard fight, Eubank has remained an undercard fighter to date and Saunder drew less than 7,000 in his world title fight with Lee.

Steve Kim posted a link to BJS past earnings. $3.2mill would be major bank for him.

I don't see why people think its a given that Canelo is fighting GGG this year. Seeing how Arum and Oscar are butt buddies again. The Pac-Bradley winner at 155 in Sept is solid possibly, especially if Bradley wins. And I'm sure the WBC would gladly cooperate. Probably would pacify GGG by making him the full champ. And making the Nelo fight for the diamond belt, or some other bull**** to snatch sanctioning fees.

I'd think he might not even get that big a offer from Canelo even though Canelo is the money guy in the division, but K2 is desperate to get as widely ranked opponent as possible.
BJS will be the biggest ***** I've seen in boxing if he does'nt take this offer, assuming the amount reported is correct. You're talking a payday that only a select few in boxing will ever see. Even if he loses he still has the domestic money fights with Eubank and Blackwell. On top of that it would be a fight for 3 of the 4 belts, against the guy most see as the best in the division. And if he managed to pull off the win, the sky is the limit for the kid.

            Biggest payday? Check

GGG should be the one making terms. Saunders doesn't want to fight him. It's that simple.

That was a move that actually got my respect. The WBA wanted Canelo to pay a sanction fee for the WBA "regular" title, while Floyd still was "super" champ. Canelo was like "how im gonna fight for a belt when the guy who beat me still has a higher belt in the same organization?"
