I understand what Mayweather is saying but I don't necessarily agree. There is definitely a double standard for some black athletes, not just boxers. Most boxing fans are "tribal." There's nothing wrong with that. For some reason here on Boxing Scene if you're black or perceived to be black and support a black fighter you're labeled a racist. Go figure. With that being said, the media and the fans seem to love McGregor and Rousey for being just as arrogant as Mayweather. Maybe they think they're pretending to be arrogant for entertainment purposes and Floyd is the real deal. He has the right to complain about whatever he wants now that he's retired. We don't have to pay him any attention but it's obvious he's still getting a lot of attention.

I like how Floyd formulated his opinion on McGregor based on what "one of his workers" told him lol. So without ever seeing him fight, the first thing he assumes is that McGregor is loved because he's white.

Conor does have a lot of fans, but he gets a huge amount of hate from others. He dresses sharp, likes nice cars, talks trash, sells tickets, but so many fans can't wait to see him lose (he's not undefeated, but hasn't lost since becoming a star). He sounds just like Floyd. Trash talkers generate media buzz, but turn a lot of people off as well.

Conor was seen as a hype job or unproven until he recently Ko'd the champ and top p4p fighter Aldo in 13 seconds, which is pretty damn impressive, so if course that will get the media hype.

And I liked how Ward being ranked 4 p4p and some Japanese dude Floyd never heard of ranked five spots below him is further proof of racism. For a guy as inactive as Ward has been the last 3 years, rank 4 is pretty generous.

Floyd looks like an idiot with these statements.

McGregor is a completely different style of fighter than Floyd.

The guy pressures his opponents and KO's them.

He DESCRIBES the way he's going to win and he DOES it.

Not to mention, he's way more entertaining than Floyd is with his trash talk and his fighting style.

It's kinda hard to give credence to this argument as the richest, most popular record breaking boxer of all-time. I mean, how bad could it have been?
