floyd mayweather is going to win. i don't think he should necessarily, but he will. the pacquiao fight was huge financially, but pacquiao's not a great win at this stage in his career. he had very little left in the tank.

i'm not familair with the poster, but if he's a die hard packtard he'd absolutely say manny was fighter of the year, comeback fighter of the year, call the fight the fight of the year

If Manny would have gotten the decision inthe exact fight, no.

Now if Klit beat Fury would you say he should be FOTY based on the same fight?

How can Golovkin even be considered? Who has he beat! Fury is the clear winner for me.

And that's why you can't base fighter of the year on just the win. Wlad is excluded from winning because you don't consider Fury worthy and the fight ******. It's asinine that no matter what Wlad did he still couldn't be considered fighter of the year.

But if Wlad knocked Fury out and knocked out Jennings he would be up for consideration or would he not? Personally I take that over Fury's boring decision win and I'm a Fury fan.

The performance matters, you and anyone else can talk all you want about opposition but the performance matters just as much. You can't have a FOTY based on a fight in which he landed 100 punches. That's less than 10 punches landed a round. I can't name one fighter of the year with such absymal performances.

It's between Jack and Fury IMO. Overcoming 2 tough, favoured challengers or one huge win, depends on what you prefer.

I have to go for Tyson Fury because of the signifigance of the win, even though it wasn't really all that impressive of a performance.
