BOth Quillin and GGG took advantage of a Rosado fight, knowing full well he's not at 160 level. Rosado got destroyed by Angulo, far faster and more accurate than GGG, and that was at 154. Abel Sanchez's clownage has caught up, and GGG's ''just...just you know...I just...'' reign is over.
I am waiting to see the weight and location before I pick a winner.

If it's 157 or less, I'm going to lean toward Canelo. Otherwise, I think GGG. But I agree Canelo will provide a much stiffer test than GGG is used to.

      1. He was a replacement for the injured Pirog.

      2. That's completely irrelevant to what I said. I said that most fans hardly even knew who GGG was until that fight. I didn't say beating Proksa was some major accomplishment. But GGG's style is pleasing so it caught people's attention.

        I'll try one time.

You listed all the fights he wasn't getting or didn't get. Lacking these he had choices of opponents. Instead of going to a Ward fight, he has taken a series of very easy fights where he is a huge favorite, which leaves questions regarding how great he really is.

We all concede he is dominant at 160. You could argue there is nothing left for him there. He is getting older. Rather than wait around for the Canelo fight, he had an option of going to 168 where his vast skill set would be tested-since there is really nothing left for him at 160.

He is still fighting the kind of opponents that are beneath him of course that isn't all his fault.

why do you people insist on acting like the Ward fight was realistic, and even possible?

But just for giggles lets assume for 1 second that K2 actually accepted the idiotic "offer" from Ward. The fight wouldnt even be happening until sometime NEXT YEAR anyways, assuming of course ward didnt stub his toe or sue his promoter between now and then.

And I'm not a GGG groupie, I'm a FAN. I've actually criticized him for not moving up to 168 yet.
unless you can prove that stfu and stop trolling.

There is no point to discussing ward/ggg anymore. It didn't happen and likely never will. You know my opinion. If you disagree, that's fine.

            • The hate for Golovkin is pretty sad at this point. I actually do think the dude is overhyped at this stage but the attacks on his resume are ridiculous.

The conflict with Universum that stalled his career for years is well known to any serious fan. It's also well known that pretty much every serious name in the middleweight division declined the fight when he was finally free to fight in the US. I mean just watch that video with Barker and Eddie Hearn where they turned down Golovkin when all he asked for was 20 tickets.

The sad truth is most guys on here don't have the technical knowledge to actually articulate Golovkin's flaws, so they just spew ******ed shit about him that has been refuted a hundred times. It's boring at this point.

Canelo is just a more slick defender. I must say, since he fought Mayweather Jr., the kid has really boosted his confidence and style in defense alone!

I don't see GGG moving Canelo back, and for every lunge that GGG will attempt while Canelo goes on a backfoot away from the ropes he's going to respond with a massive counter attack. He's just that fast and reflexive.

Now regarding the weight issue, since GGG said HIMSELF, he'd fight Floyd at 154, or Ward at 164. Why would anyone complain about 158?! Canelo's the A side and an elite fighter, if GGG wants it he's going to have to take it. 2lbs can just as be debatable for advantage when A sides CHOOSE the gloves.

Canelo alone has the better resume than GGG and he took Cotto's belt - the man who beat the man. It's crazy if ANYONE thinks GGG has the upper word over Canelo.

Aside from all that, Canelo has the complete skills to knock out GGG. I said knockout not a decision.

I don't have to prove anything, I've seen your posts in the past and I can't imagine I'm the only one who thinks this.

You mean ''we'll take on any 154 to 168lbr'' If this wasn't true, there would've been extra press by Sanchez or Loeffler that the statement was out of context or incorrect. Anyway you view it...it's called ***** talk, or saying without thinking. Just like every boxer even a 200th ranked fighter would want a fight with Floyd. Most would fight Floyd to say ''I fought him'' knowing they'd get beat!

So, again, ''we'll take on any 154 - 168 pounder'' is another of saying except Ward? logical fallacy innit?! and knowing fully well Ward was inactive and going through financial disputes.

GGG is really skilled so it will be tough for both guys. I just think you have to favor GGG if they go in at anything above 157 given his skills and how amped and angry he will be having to wait so long for his shot.
