I brought up Nelson because you said before Haymon, Dunkin had no trouble getting Nelson fights. Nelson last two fights have been with Haymon guys. Here's the tweet thread that gives context to what you posted. Main Events had been blaming DiBella for tying to change the number of options at the last minute. And that was the reason the Glazkov fight got canceled That's why they sent out this tweet to make their point about DiBella.

And Mora did sign the rematch clause.

        • HBO bouts carries its risks...part of the territory. Worst network for boxing. Couch potato combat zone eating garbage commentary and biased culture.. cursed you could say. Imagine what HBO would do to GGG if he loses. They dont care. As Floyd said, "on to the next."

Fighters are protected and fights aren't made for a reason. If you lose you become less marketable, your record isn't as pretty on the networks during intros and a promoter will take a loss putting you on events at empty casinos. Fighters need to be groomed, promoted and built up the right way and that is:

            1. Early in your career, stay undefeated and take low risk fights
            2. Gradually step up your opposition and take the most dangerous fights later in your career when you are an established product with a real fan base.

Every fighter does this but Monroe tried to play hero and go against the norm. Now he has respect but no fights, no money and no interest from promoters.

Fans talk all that **** about fighting for legacy and trying to earn their respect but when fighters do that and fail they end up like Willie Monroe.

            Agreed. .....

He was. I remember a little while back he was tweeting about how happy he was that he's with PBC and how his career is much better and it's good to be with someone who actually cares about their fighters. There's some young guys in the PBC stable that will never know how good they have it because they didn't come up like Mora and Vanes. I just don't understand why fans don't want boxers to get paid more money. It doesn't effect my pockets not one bit, especially when the fights aren't on PPV. PBC is the best thing for boxers short of a union. They're getting paid well and they're staying busy.

Sorry I assumed you were referring to Peter Nelson for some reason.
I think we can both agree DiBella is not the money man for these events, therefore he's not likely the one drafting the contracts. He takes his directions from the money man when it comes to the negotiations. Just like GYM gets it's final say from Al regarding Stevenson and how King got his final say from Al regarding Steiverne/Ortiz.

If I had time, I'd pull some DiBella/Haymon/Berto links. Years ago, Lou just did whatever he was told in regards to Berto. It actually blew up in his face when Berto went on twitter bragging about how Al set up an HBO meeting with Greenburg to discuss his future and Lou said he knew nothing about it.

And yes Mora signed the contract, I already mentioned that, what else was he going to do? Here's a fun fact - Sergio is actually signed to DiBella, not Jacobs. Why would DiBella force Mora (his contracted fighter) into a rematch clause if Sergio won, but not if Jacobs won???

                • damn thats ****ed up and THIS is the reason why i will always hold Al Haymon in high regard bc of what he does for the fighters.

How does Gabe Rosado keep getting fights on tv then?
He hasn't won since BKB but he will fight anybody and when he gets in the ring, he fights his ass off.
