I understand being gracious but let's be honest here. Tyson is not the most talented boxer but he's done much better against guys who actually came to fight.
I can see where you're coming from. Fury isn't the best puncher or most accurate puncher but his movement is a great asset for a guy his size. He looks like a giant Gollum and doesn't look pretty but he'll beat most guys who look like they're a lot more talented. He did it tonight. The results are what matters more than the smooth, athletic movements. He's a big idiot but I'm surprised how much he's improved.

I agree! I thought Wlad was going to beat him up and dominate, but Tyson Fury was able to back up his words. All the respect in the world to the crazy Brit.

I think Fury took Vlad by surprise in many ways, Vlad had no answers to Fury's approach which was sort of all over he place. And one thing - Vlad couldn't reach him with his jab, or Fury was quick to avoid with head and body movement. Fury's reach advantage played a big role, and the fact that Vlad couldn't bully him physically.

Fury met him at the right time -- Vlad isn't the force he used to be and it showed tonight. IMO Vlad should retire (but we will get a rematch most probably, Vlad has the contract clause).
Its that old phrase ..one which I always hated but begrudgingly have come to accept: "styles make fights." The real template for this fight was the liston ali affair. The reason why Ali could work against Liston was all in his ability to move and disrupt Liston's timing. Klit was no Liston and fury no ali but the archetype played out tonight. After a while when everytime you set you get a jab, or a miss, you start to not want to pull the trigger so much.

Youve been a good sport to bet with on this, you could have at least given me odds though!!

I agree. He's exploding with confidence now. I wouldn't say he'd KO Wlad because going in with that mindset is asking to be KOd yourself. He had the perfect plan and it will work next time just as well.

Wlad retiring... I don't know if he does or not. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes with his wife's issues, I don't know if he looked great or **** in sparring, so it's hard to say.

But for me, personally: he has more money than he knows what to do with, a ****load of titles and medals, and a very young family that's experiencing trouble. If he can't unify all the belts and become undisputed, what's there left to do?

He should retire and be on the same continent as his family 24/7, 365. It's time for the next era. The king is dead, long live the king.

And I don't know about you guys, but the look on his wife's face at ringside? I didn't like it. Make of that what you will.

I agree. With a young wife, a baby daughter, training in Florida, living in Germany, being from Ukraine.. I mean.

I certainly wouldn't begrudge him if he hung them up. He has an uphill battle as it is. It seemed to me like the people of Germany liked Tyson Fury.

And Wlad honestly looked a beaten man after 2-3 rounds. To me that's a guy who doesn't want it the same as he used to.

But hey, if he wants to get a rematch he should get it.

I've watched his last 11 fights as they aired (which wasn't easy in the States) and he's survived some real scares by keeping calm and focused. To be loose enough to work his feet and keep his torso and head moving was key here. When I saw Wlad neglect to make Fury feel his power in the first and saw Tyson start to dance at the end of the round, I called it as a big mistake on Wlad's part.
As soon as I saw half of the first round I thought "this is going to be trouble for Wlad". Fury looked a lot taller and was moving well on his feet. I didn't know if Fury would have the stamina to do that for 12 rounds but I also wasn't sure if Wlad would tire out being the much older fighter. In the end it looked like neither of them tired out.

One thing I thought I'd see is some body punches by Wlad but he didn't throw hardly any.

Yea, Wlad's hesitance was concerning in the Jennings fight. It seemed that he either wasn't feeling right or he was mentally checked out. With a confident guy like Tyson you MUST get them in-check early.
Seeing Tyson in (relatively) great shape last week I predicted that he wanted to move more than he normally does and draw Wlad into the later rounds where he could get more aggressive (I disagreed with the common opinion that Fury was going to pressure and pounce). Though I predicted the gameplan, I didn't think it would work. Good on Tyson for making it happen!

I guess this is good, I mean we now have a new HW champ who has charisma and I would call him lineal being Wlad didnt lose in 10+ years.

probably better the torch was past before wlad retired.

IDK I used to like wlad back in the day before steward when he was more aggressive. Ended up liking vitali way more who never changed his style and didnt clinch.

                    props to fury
