Fury is no Ali, but watching him work this week one could see he was practicing throwing the jab without setting. Fury's corner has experience and had a premonition that this was the strategy needed...they were right.

I think Fury, sloppy as he was, deserves credit for moving very well in semi circles off of Vlad's power hand..he would jib and jab just as Vlad was trying to set, in so doing he actually took Vlad's jab away...despite the fact that Vlad has a tremendous jab.

fury actually has some skills...he still needs refinement but he has a sense of how to move in a ring properly, something we have not seen in a heavy weight champ for a while.
    That's how I see it.

.....and if he keeps moving like that he'll be big trouble for any heavyweight His size and reach combined with that movement is a nightmare for his opponents.

Fury looked brilliant, but not pleasing to the eye. But he executed a brilliant plan to win the fight and thats all you can do, even if its ugly.

he is very skilled at times. no average fighter could just take away Klitschko's game like that.
Someone is eating serious crow. You pretty much called Fury a fat bum yesterday.

Fury took his confidence away and dominated him. Rematch would be the same result; at Wladimirs age, I don't think he's up for the task of climbing the mountain all over again. And I'm not blaming his loss on age, I just think he's done.
I think a rematch would be easier for Fury actually.

        Does Wlad retire?

I understand being gracious but let's be honest here. Tyson is not the most talented boxer but he's done much better against guys who actually came to fight.
Fury landed more than Vlad from what I saw, and Vlad looked terrible to be honest. Slow and old. Vlad was gracious in defeat though, he once again proved what a classy guy he is.

I think Fury took Vlad by surprise in many ways, Vlad had no answers to Fury's approach which was sort of all over he place. And one thing - Vlad couldn't reach him with his jab, or Fury was quick to avoid with head and body movement. Fury's reach advantage played a big role, and the fact that Vlad couldn't bully him physically.

Fury met him at the right time -- Vlad isn't the force he used to be and it showed tonight. IMO Vlad should retire (but we will get a rematch most probably, Vlad has the contract clause).

There were some good heavy shots over the top but yeah his jabs looked horrendous! But I would gladly have someone who could move and work on their punching rather than trying to get the standard feet of stone that idiotic Elroy keeps pushing as the new ubermen in the division.

Thing is Fury KNOWS how to throw a decent jab...you watch him on the pads, its a good jab, not a great one, but decent. lol...

Agreed. The thing I give Fury major respect for is his head. People get fooled by the crazy act. I've watched his last 11 fights as they aired (which wasn't easy in the States) and he's survived some real scares by keeping calm and focused. To be loose enough to work his feet and keep his torso and head moving was key here. When I saw Wlad neglect to make Fury feel his power in the first and saw Tyson start to dance at the end of the round, I called it as a big mistake on Wlad's part.
