Canelo just won a fight that did 1 million PPV s, GGG's last fight didn't do 1/10 those numbers. Fight at 157 and make it happen, seems fair.

Just a minor point but actually I suspect the WBC may prefer the GGG option and stability because if this Canelo/Cotto/PBF/Pac catchweight bull**** continues then why would anyone but a no name fighter try for a belt anyway. Dropping it or fighting at random Catchweights devalues the belt and the whole association.

The Titles limitations are 160lbs not 155lbs, if Canelo wants to weigh 155 fine he can weigh 139 and fight as a Middleweight but 160 is the LIMIT!

They had no problem with GGG fighting an old guy 2 divisions below him at his weight class because he lacked the fire power to hurt Golovkin, they just wanted to see the bigger guy steam roll right through Floyd, size and weight be damned! lol

Now someone with skills and power, wants to fight GGG at a weight that GGG himself said he would be willing to come down to. All hell breaks loose.

What would happen if Canelo drops the belt and calls out GGG at 155? What would be the excuse then?

Not one person is dis*****g catchweights being a part of boxing numb nuts. The issue here is you have the lineal and WBC middleweight title holder demanding a 155 catchweight against his MANDATORY opponent, where obviously no catchweight is required should there be a purse bid.

Was he the lineal 168 Champ forcing Ward to 164 because Ward was chasing the belts? Canelo is the lineal 160 champ GGG is a 160 lb fighter who wants the belt and Lineal status.
