So what we have here is a guy (GGG) who wanted a catchweight with a bigger and probably better fighter (Ward) being asked for a catchweight (by Canelo) because he (GGG) is probably a bigger and better fighter than the guy who just won a belt at a catchweight because he was a bigger and better fighter (than Cotto).

And people wonder why boxing is in the f'd up state that it's in.

Lineal means nothing if your not defending it against middleweights.....if canelo gets stripped he will be universally recognised as ducking golovkin and it makes no difference whether he's lineal or not.....154-160 has always been the middlweight limit and it will still be a long time after canelo has retired... I have no issues with canelo not fighting golovkn I have issues with the mexican trying to change the rules of boxing which has been around for over a century in terms of weight classes

Its funny, because Canelo fans seem to know he isnt on GGG level, so they think maybe if he can drain him to 155, maybe the age difference will hurt GGG more than Canelo.

GGG came in at 157 for Monroe, and not long ago he was training down to fight one of these guys. Its all posturing.

I highly doubt Canelo even wants to fight at 155, he just hopes GGG wont call him on the bs, because he is scared.

In reality, 3 MW titles, the lineal and ring mag title would be on the line. Its is silly for that to happen 1 pound above JR.MW when both fighters rehydrate over 170.

Canelo has no issues having a huge weight advantage against Cotto, but ask the man to fight GGG, at a weight he is lineal champion at, and that is too much.

De La Hoya says he is not at his man weight yet. Come on, he is very much in his man weight.
