What other fight does canelo have though? I don;t see any big fight for him other than GGG really. Unless he wants to continue dragging up jar middle weights to 155 or 156 ... or dragging middleweights down.

I think the fight will happen but that they will try their best to drag GGG down as much as possible to weaken him as much as they can

He lacks the output to be a pressure fighter, and we saw that again yesterday. Personally, it was frustrating to see Canelo fight hard enough just to win, since I know he has the skills to get his guys out of there, if he simply pressed much more.

Against GGG, I think he has much more output than against movers, obviously. The danger, though, is getting into exchanges with GGG. Again, I would like to see Canelo fully grow into middleweight, fight 2-3 middleweights, feel their power, have stamina against bigger guys, and try to carry power into division.

I think the fact that Canelo is still able to make 155 indicates he is not quite a middleweight yet, since a true middleweight probably kills himself trying to make 155. So, I'm not opposed to seeing Canelo take 2-3 fights at 160 before fighting GGG. I think its crazy to jump straight into a division and fight the best guy there, right off the bat.
I kinda agree with your post here, I too want to see a 50-50 fight. I want the best of Canelo fighting the best of GGG, having agreed with you and all that i think Canelo should drop the belt if he is going to go the through of fighting ONE OR TWO middleweights before facing GGG.

He should go after Quillin or Andy lee and maybe another middleweight after that. And then go after GGG for all the belts if possible.

He can always fight the Jacobs-Quillin winner, or check if andy lee is interested at 160, Rosado etc there are a lot of fringe, war torn, gate-keepers that he can fight at 160 to test the waters.

the kid is the TRUTH....if Nelo's fight game and resume is not respected then you really need to change your view angle or get outta the nosebleeds and find a better seat....the kid is LEGIT!!

No need to marinate anything...Nelo can fight Little G in September at 'Nelo Weight'....of course Little G would be fav'd but Nelo would be liver than any dog on the books imo....I would make this fight in September at 'Nelo Weight' if I was Hoya.....Team Little G is in it for the money, the belts are secondary...GBP should throw a bag of money on the table and have K2 sell it's soul...once GBP purchases the soul of K2, I'm sure dudes will say that K2 had a change of heart...but in reality, their mask will fall off.....as I much as I despise Hoya's hoe ass, I'll admit, he got the best hand when it comes to playing cards with Team Little G

I suppose he could and it would make more sense for him and Oscar, l personally feel those dates are overrated and that good PPV fights will sell regardless. Also, l'm being impatient here and want this fight sooner than later.

... "Look, I can take a page from my mentor Bob Arum's book and say, 'Well, you've got to let it marinate,' or I can go and say, 'Let's go! Let's do it!' Let me talk to my team, let me talk to Canelo [and] discuss how he's feeling … we don't know, we'll see," De La Hoya said.

After the fight, Kellerman asks Canelo about fighting Golovkin.
“I can’t answer that right now,” Canelo says. “But if you want me to fight him right now, I’ll fight him right now.”

Translation: We need to talk with WBC and The Ring board first, in order to find a solution in order not to be stripped.

To be more specific: with only 3 jabs landed per round, Canelo has no actual reason to take a Golovkin fight in a foreseeable future.

he has the balls to duck the little G fight and it looks like his promoter does too.
