This thread makes my brain hurt. All kinds of stupid.

Mayweather has fought in 5 divisions professionally.

Golovkin has fought in 1 divison professionally.

If you want to count amateur career then Mayweather has fought in 8 divisons across both; 106, 114, 125, 130, 135, 140, 147, 154

      Golovkin has fought in 3; 147, 154, 160

Amateur weight divisions only count when it's not Floyd, obviously.

Mayweather moved up because he started very young and had to move up as he outgrew weight classes. Does anybody seriously believe he could fight at 130 now if he wanted to. He failed to make the agreed 144 in his fight with Marquez many years ago. Mayweather is a full sized welterweight now. He is 147 pounds of bone and muscle with no extra weight. He is not this natural 130 pounder who is so brave and so good he can beat any welterweight. He is a natural full sized welterweight fighting in the weight class he belongs in. He won the 130 pound title when he had just turned 21 and was still filling out. As he filled out and gained muscle weight he really had no choice but to move up. He would have been weight drained and weak if he tried to stay in those lighter weight classes. He finally stopped growing at 147. By comparing Mayweather with GGG you are comparing apples with oranges. GGG is 33 years old. He is not growing or filling out. He is as big as he is ever going to get. He makes middleweight with ease. For him to go to 168 would be for him to go to an unnatural weight class he doesn't belong in. It would be like asking Mayweather to fight Canelo at 154 pounds and we know 152 was as high as he would go.

The times Floyd weighs in on fight night, shows he gains 2-3lbs. But all of a sudden when he doesn't show it, anti-Floyd fans can open up there imagination, it means he ballooned up to 165lbs in the ring.

He became a true WW after he went up to fight DLH and weighed 150lbs on the scale. So no he couldn't make 144lbs in 2009. And no he can't make 130 now. That's not the argument. The argument is that prime Floyd moved up in weight for money, not weight issues. Someone who weighs 146lbs on the scale and 146lbs on fight night is clearly having absolutely no issues making the weight below him. Someone weighing in at 130lbs on the scales, and 133lbs on fight night is no dire need of moving up. In 2006, yes Floyd could have still made 140 if he wanted to. Like I said, when Floyd added that bit of muscle for DLH and weighed 150, that was when it became difficult for him to make 140. Actually, it doesn't look like Floyd ever lost that muscle he gained in 2007. After 2007 he consistently weighed in the ring at 150lbs. Which makes sense, he went from weighing 146-148 on fight night, to after DLH he was weighing in at 150. Floyd is the type of fighter who takes training camp very seriously, it doesn't appear that he likes to use camp to shed weight, rather to train for the fight. Which is why he goes in there, probably walking around 152-153, sheds 6lbs easily with just the normal workout.

Yea, how the hell did that argument work it's way into existence anyhow? Who looks at Mayweather in training or in a fight and says, "Damn, dude is swole now!" ?? It's as stupid as the guys posing pics of Manny, trying to show when he was supposedly roided and when he was clean. These guys get older and their body composition changes a little but neither ever pulled a Marquez (the thing that makes you pause and think, Eh, something ain't right here...)
