Broner vs Maidana is the equivalent of GG vs Chavez Jr.

Because ggg is expected the same thing from Saul. I agree let him FULLY move up and take 1-2 fights against lesser opponents and then go against ggg for all the marbles. That's how it's done right. But gggTards want their hypocrite cake and eat it too...

I don't know about that?? He must of had ggg a lil worried or he wouldn't have added that last second $1,000,000 per lb penalty?

Then bob arum killed the fight entirely on changing the terms. If Chavez would of agreed ad came in two lbs over he would of been fighting for free or worse owed a bunch of money. So I see why he refused too skanks BS.

If Canelo beats Cotto he will be the WBC MW champion, and GGG wants to fight for that belt.

The officially sanctioned weight for Cotto/Canelo, as recognised by the WBC, will be 160lbs, the same as for any other MW title fight.

The 155 catchweight is a separate, private deal between Cotto and Canelo.

If GGG does not want to make a deal like that with Canelo, then Saul will have to defend the title at the MW limit, or relinquish it.

All Golovkin is saying is that he wants to fight for the MW title at the MW limit.

That's how it's done in boxing. No reason at all for GGG to be treated differently than any other fighter.

FYI, poster tokon made me stop and think with Herschman out at HBO, maybe Haymon comes back. If so, then maybe GGG should stay at 160 to make fights with the quillin/Jacobs winner.

I am really interested in your answer.

Well, it depend's who's respect you are talking about. GGG would get more respect from hardcore fans for defeating the SMWs, because we understand, or some of us do anyway, that fighting men who are naturally bigger than you is a tougher task than fighting men your own size or smaller.

With sports fans in general, the people who buy tickets for fights and put money in the fighters bank accounts, GGG would get as much, if not more respect for unifying at MW, because, presumably, he would look better doing it than struggling and toiling against the bigger guys.

Unifying at MW first, then going after titles at 168, is obviously the best option of all.

If Canelo is an undersized MW, so is GGG

And no one forced Canelo to step into Cotto role as MW champ, who has been mandated to fight GGG or else.

If Canelo wanted to fight a few MW before, fine, then do that.

Why the **** should GGG wait any longer after Cotto strung him along for so long?

If Canelo beats Cotto, he made his bed, now he has to sleep in it.

Using Floyd is a poor example on your part. Floyd did go up while waiting for Manny to fight him, twice in fact. Had Manny not gotten those stitches, it likely would've been Floyd/MAnny before he went to jail.

You keep avoiding the question-what do you as a fan want to see more-GGG in tough or GGG in with another MW that is a huge underdog?

If you want the latter, just say it. If watching someone you like get easy wins, is what you want, cool.

There is more glory and respect in moving up than there is in unification for GGG.
GGG needs to unify and rid the MW division of these fake ass *****es.

Like I said, Saul took the Cotto fight knowing the deal.

He knew Cotto strung GGG along for a long time.

He knew if he won he'd be called on to defend against GGG.

Canelo wants to win 3 MW belts at a 155 CW!

He is a 175 pound fighter, roughly same size as GGG.

It's cool for him to fight undersized Cotto and Bradley, but not a similar sized GGG?

Yep. He's done the exact same deal with Ward being the guy Zurdo will be fighting in x fights. Surprised promoters don't use this jedi mind trick type tactic more often. Its pretty basic yet genius at the same time.

I hear what your saying but if you think ggg has been waiting on cotto?? Canelo has been waiting on cotto for almost three years when he was ringside rooting for cotto against trout! And it's not like he can take time to sign contracts to fight ggg now. He needs to be 100% focused for the opponent in front of him. He wins I believe everything he says. I have NO doubt he'll fight ggg and it's not a matter of if! But when... Cotto probably won't ever fight ggg. And I'm ok with that as well. He's put in his work and paid his dues.
