Hell to be honest the only reason why casuals around here know Ward is because he's from the Bay Area.

What I'm trying to express is that GGG doesn't bring in that much more attention than Kovalev....at least not where I'm from. Besides, at this point I think Ward and GGG only mention each other because reporters ask the same questions a million times.
GGG is selling out arena's, Kovalev is doing good numbers on HBO. Kovalev will get there, but GGG is very likable and has had more time for exposure.

But he is undeniably the bigger name between the two, and thats why his name is in Wards mouth, even though he he knows the fight he will be fighting is Kovalev.

Keep in mind that Ward can't even give away tickets to his fights, while GGG is filling arena's with $250 tickets.

Agreed, Kovalev literally killed a guy in the ring before. That fact alone probably gives him the mental edge over certain opponents. Major props to Ward if he can pull off the victory.

I was at Ward's last fight it was a decent turn out considering the opponent. I get your point though.

            Did HBO actually confirm this?

Um, did you miss the part where Ward said he could beat a Klitschko?

He signed a three fight deal with HBO, but 2 tune ups with Kova being the 3rd. Dunno where this guy got that from.

Yea, I'm not in doubt about signing with HBO, but the other part seems highly questionable. Andre Ward tends to say alot of dumb things that aren't exactly true. So thats why I am curious to know if HBO came out and said this, or Ward and his team did.

With all the exposure and that hype why did his Ppv only do 96 k then ?

Because when it comes to PPV, casual fans are only going to spend money on Cotto, Canelo, Pacquiao and Floyd. Despite this, in the American market, who do you think generates the most ratings and gate revenues? Which other fighters?
