So you'd prefer he move up to fight one of the P4P best without acclimating himself to the weight class first?no one is hating on the kovalev fight. they are hating on his 3 lame tune ups and they are pointing out how hypocritical ward fans are when they called ggg a duck for trying to fight froch who was number 2 in the division in his very first fight at 168. but ward needs baby steps just to get to kovalev who is number 2 in his division.Comment

According to Golovkin's team, the fight was proposed for late 2016 which is when the Kovalev fight is supposed to happen.
So same time-frame of acclimatisation.
But GGG never brought up acclimatising to 168 when it was Chavez or Froch.Comment

WARD: "Mayweather at 154 but GGG at 168"Hmm but Golovkin never said that Froch/Chavez Jr would be first steps to a campaign at 168 that will ultimately lead to a fight with Ward... Ward clearly said that he's going to 175 with the intentions of facing Kovalev.
GGG: "Froch/Chavez at 168 but Ward only at 164."

Can Little G fans just stay out of Ward/Kovalev threads from now on?
These threads are for real fans of the sport who want to see a real fight between 2 real fighters.
These matters don't concern Little G or his fans.Comment

The situations aren't exactly the same in my opinion.Isn't that what Ward was demanding Golovkin do?
I was under the belief that Ward expressed interest in the match up after GGG tried to make fights with Chavez Jr. and Froch. I don't think they ever got far enough into negotiations for a fight between them to discuss tune ups, etc. Not to mention that Able was running his mouth about GGG being a monster, capable of beating any fighter from 154-168.
Ward seems to be giving Kovalev the respect he deserves by admitting he needs to prepare himself for a fighter of his caliber. I didn't get that same impression from GGG's camp.Comment
