    I think NOT
If Vitali was messing around and not bracing for the shot then it could well have done. Probably not though, considering Vitali has an obviously better chin than Fury, something which I don't think even hardcore Fury fans would dispute.

But lots of fighters are knocked down and hurt by shots they aren't expecting. Tua was knocked down by Rahman after the bell, Mercer was knocked down by a nothing head kick in K-1. Fury's taken demonstrably harder shots than the Cunningham one and been fine, so I don't know why this keeps on being brought up like it means anything.

Common sense alone should tell you that kicks can generate way, way more force than a punch if not direct proof itself from MMA tapes, etc.... It's just a lot harder to land a perfect kick as they are telegraphed most of the time.

Think about it. No shame in a teenaged Vitali getting stopped by a head kick. He showed he has a chin by never going down as a pro incl. 17 of those being world title fights.

I already acknowledged that point in my above post mate.

The Fury's are Irish gypsy stock. To Irish Gypsies, bare knuckle fighting is like reggae music to Jamaicans. It's what they do for fun and recreation.

I think Tyson Fury would beat Vitali in a brawl all on his own. He's bigger, younger, and has bare knuckle fighting champions, both sides of his family, going back generations. He is also an elite heavyweight boxer and a trained kickboxer, like Vitali, but in his prime.

Please, it happened one day after the press conference.

Yeah, maybe he had an evening run or an evening workout at the gym after flying back from London.

The injury did seem slightly su****ious though.

But, injuries happen in sports all the time, so it might have been real.

Or maybe he was distraught over his wife's drug addiction.

            Hard to say.

Fury was being careless when he got caught with that shot. He was clowning and had his hands down, and Cunningham landed a huge overhand right. Cunningham wouldn't likely land that shot on Wlad., but if he were to, it'd likely have the same effect. Cunningham may not be a huge puncher, but a shot like that flush on the chin would effect anyone. That was Fury's worst fight, and he ended up fouling his way to victory. That wasn't a proud fight for him. Wladimer is a different type of opponent though. Fury is rightfully a large underdog, but he has a legitimate chance.

Maybe Wlad should try some of that saltwater.
