If Vitali was messing around and not bracing for the shot then it could well have done. Probably not though, considering Vitali has an obviously better chin than Fury, something which I don't think even hardcore Fury fans would dispute.

But lots of fighters are knocked down and hurt by shots they aren't expecting. Tua was knocked down by Rahman after the bell, Mercer was knocked down by a nothing head kick in K-1. Fury's taken demonstrably harder shots than the Cunningham one and been fine, so I don't know why this keeps on being brought up like it means anything.

Fury was being careless when he got caught with that shot. He was clowning and had his hands down, and Cunningham landed a huge overhand right. Cunningham wouldn't likely land that shot on Wlad., but if he were to, it'd likely have the same effect. Cunningham may not be a huge puncher, but a shot like that flush on the chin would effect anyone. That was Fury's worst fight, and he ended up fouling his way to victory. That wasn't a proud fight for him. Wladimer is a different type of opponent though. Fury is rightfully a large underdog, but he has a legitimate chance.
