ok lets say golovkin gets all the belts at 160. whats so impressive about it since we all agree he has no competition at that weight.
no matter how hard you spin it, canelo and cotto at not true middleweights. did anybody consider pacquiao a jnr middleweight when he won a strap there?
a catchweight makes sense. them going up to full 160 is giving golovkin, the B side, an advantage because he has been there since amateurs.
the money is bigger than that strap. dont let sanchez fool you into thinking he doesn't care about a huge PPV payday.
as the B side, golovkin is the one that needs to make the sacrifice to make the fight a reality. this is how boxing has always operated.
he can keep crying about being ducked in a weak division or get with the program and make the fight happen.Comment

The argument is that Froch & Chavez jr are SMW's and GGG will fight them at full 168 lbs, but for Ward it has to be 164 lbs.And before the "but but but but 164 doe" crowd think they have something, as hard as it is for your undeveloped brains to comprehend, at east TRY and understand the difference between title fights between participants in the same division, and 2 fighters from different divisions meeting in the middle.
that's pretty much the argument there & the whole "A" side stuff Mr.97K can't use that no more.

Not always. There used to be championships by weight class that actually mattered. Wasn't that long ago.ok lets say golovkin gets all the belts at 160. whats so impressive about it since we all agree he has no competition at that weight.

If Cotto or Canelo (probably the latter) want to hand over the MW belt after begging for 155, then so be it. It will be seen for what it is, a weak move.
I have a feeling that things will fall into place after the 11/21 fight. Right now those guys need to stay focused. Afterward, I can see GGG and Alvarez agreeing to a deal at around 157, 158.
I mean seriously if Canelo turns down a 158 fight to defend the MW he holds (presumably...I can't see Cotto winning, but stranger things have happened) he is going to be the most eff'd up weenie excuse for a fighter the world ever seen.Comment

Its called "economic leverage".
Froch and Chavez had it.
