If the goal is mass appeal then GGG is going to have to fight at 155. I don't see how GGG fighting some scrub for the vacant title helps him at all. In order to get the big money fight he's been yearning for he has to bow down to the Canelo/Cotto winner.

Having all the belts may not make GGG "great", but it would certainly provide him leverage, in that anything at 160 must go through him, and sooner or later Canelo will have to move up.......

He already had leverage over every available MW (non-PBC) without the belts sans Cotto/Canelo. Having all the trinkets at MW won't give him and leverage over those two.

They never entertained a fight with Ward. Which they shouldn't of. If I was handling GGG I wouldn't let him no where near Ward.

I would. Ward's never been in the ring with a fighter of GGG's ability, and as Darnell Boone has dropped Ward, then GGG drops and stops Ward. Watching Ward's performance against Paul Smith has convinced me that Ward is not going to be all that difficult a fight for GGG, and I eagerly await the day when they fight.

If K2 & GGG like money they will fight Canelo at 155 is the bottom line. Is it fair? No. Is boxing fair? Nope. Can they choose justice over money? Sure. Will adding a title via vacating mean a whole lot for GGG's trajectory or legacy? I don't believe so.

The prize here is Cotto or Canelo not some belt GGG is gonna have a 3% tax on future purses to own.

Actually, his legacy would be fine without those names if they chose not to fight him. Says a lot about what they thought of him that they needed to make their own weight classes just to have an edge on him. You can call it fear or respect, but when one guy is willing to fight and the other makes excuses or unnecessary demands, it doesn't in any way make the guy who wants to fight at the limit look bad at all.

How do you know Ward can't make 168? That's all Ward has been talking about for the last year.

So that's all he been talking about for the last year..exactly when was the last time he made 168 and how many fights has he had in 3 years ....and he wants 2 more tune ups before kovalev.....so based on your biased assumptions a world champion with 3 belts who has fought regularly is coming in at 159 for his fights and he has to give up all his momentum and go up 10 pounds to accommodate a fighter that is not even ready for championship fights....you have a very warped sense of what reality is ....what I suggest to you is text your friend Andre ward tell him from me he has done absolutely nothing these past 3 he is choosing another low ranked 168 to move up to 175 and fight him....wards horse has bolted my friend and I guarantee you now when kovalev gets hold him he gets beat......if ward could make 168 he would be fighting his next fight at that weight....172 is way off 168 you know that I know that and it's more than likely he would have dehydrated himself big time if he sweated down to make 168......your only argument is ward that's ..you have no argument so bring a fighter that ain't even in golovkins division ...delusional my friend

Golovkin holds all the cards....we all know that the title is gonna be sorted after the cotto fight ....who ever wins if they don't fight there mandatory they lose there title and get stripped then golovkin will have the belt....this hurts canelo and cotto more because they will have to drop down to another division and carry on don there......there's a famous quote by Roberto Duran ( the life of a boxer is to fight for world titles.)..now let's just assume that thee was no cotto or canelo around for triple GGG. ) what would he do ? He would do exactly what he is doing now.....when you hold all the belts you hold all the strings and for me I would rather have 2 or 3 million pound a fight and do it the right way than force myself down to weight that could make me be lose.....sooner or later canelo will really have no choice but to face him especially if he really can't make the weight.....every boxer when they start the road to professional career wants to be champion of the world...why should it be different for golovkin.....it's not because of him he is not getting ATGs in the ring....I think by the end of next year the fight will be fixed if canelo makes it through cotto

Don't give in, Golovkin! Don't go for all this media pressure, A-side bullcrap, mind games from Canelito and his team. Stand firm in your insistence that Canelito go up to 160 and fight you there (IF...... he gets by Cotto). Canelito is AT LEAST a middleweight, possibly even bigger. There's absolutely NO REASON (other than fear) for Canelito not to agree to face you at 160. He practically has to drain himself to make 155. Don't fall for the scam. Sooner or later, you'll get the fan base and the accolades you need. Let the facts speak for themselves. Canelito is a well-brought-along, pampered, matinee-idol-wannabe who thinks he is owed the world. **** him..... AND his blind followers.
