December of this year will mark the 4th year commencement of Froch vs Ward which concluded the super 6 . People who's goal is to marginalize Ward seem to wanna add on years .

P4P is a distinction that has to be given to someone , so if not Ward , then who ? Kov , with his best win being Pascal ? GGG , with his best win being PePe Lemeu ? Hi-Tech , with his record being 4-1 ? Klitschko , may be a good candidate but if your one of the ones who says Ward clinches a lot then I seriously doubt u consider Klitchko .

Point being , realistically , there should only be about 4 names considered in the p4p top 5 , which are : Ward , Klitschko , Rigo and maybe , Chocolatito although Im not familiar with who he's fought as I don't follow that weight class , but I have watched him fight and he is amazing .

There could realistically be some who r better than the ones I named , but don't yet have the resume's to prove it .

Who else can you name that has taken that many tuneups?

              Except that's not the point.

For all we know, the only reason he looked sharp is because he fought Paul Smith and that he wouldn't look the same fighting a top notch fighter (the EXACT reason people criticize fighters like GGG, Wlad, Gonzalez etc because of their competition).

I have no doubts that Ward is the same talented fighter and he'd beat anyone from 160-175 (I'd favour Kovalev but I think Ward has a good chance of beating him) but I'm not going to give him the merit of a #2 P4P ranking simply because of that.

Well Golovkin has taken about 35 or something so Ward has a long way to go before he catches up.

Didn't cherry pick it was round robin elimination. If he beats Kovalev will Floyd groupies finally give him props? Floyd never fought someone In their prime only Castillo and he lost and corrales he won easy
I dont remember that super 8 thing. Was that some local movie tourney?

The Ward defense squad is out in full force asking us about whose overall competition is the softest to deflect from the fact that back here in the present Ward's competition is softer than cookie dough.
If a guaranteed Kovalev fight doesn't prove to u that Ward has very high aspirations , then nothing will . The same people (like yourself) who complain about Ward fighting a Can or two , are the same people who praise GGG for knocking over 26 Cans in a row awhile scouting for his 27.

                      Pft.

Alexander Brand is not even a Willie Monroe Jr, and that was the weakest opponent GGG has fought in recent memory.

Face it, Ward's competition level has fallen below that of GGG's at this point.
