P4P is a distinction that has to be given to someone , so if not Ward , then who ? Kov , with his best win being Pascal ? GGG , with his best win being PePe Lemeu ? Hi-Tech , with his record being 4-1 ? Klitschko , may be a good candidate but if your one of the ones who says Ward clinches a lot then I seriously doubt u consider Klitchko .

Point being , realistically , there should only be about 4 names considered in the p4p top 5 , which are : Ward , Klitschko , Rigo and maybe , Chocolatito although Im not familiar with who he's fought as I don't follow that weight class , but I have watched him fight and he is amazing .

There could realistically be some who r better than the ones I named , but don't yet have the resume's to prove it .
    This doesn't make sense.

You know how people criticize GGG/Kovalev/Wlad/Gonzalez because they say that they only look good because they fight bums? Well you can apply the exact same thing to Ward. Because you can actually make the argument that Ward has only looked elite because he fought a "bum" in Smith (the same way people say GGG/Kovalev/Wlad/Gonzalez only looks good based on who they fights).

There's no indication whatsoever in present times that suggest he's the same fighter 3-4 years ago and it's absolute malpractice if you give him a status based on achievements/performance years ago that he has not proven at all that he could repeat.

I'll give him credit for it once it actually happens.

AFAIK right now it's all talk.

Face it, Ward's competition level has fallen below that of GGG's at this point.
Well you'd hope so considering Ward has been out for so long. And again, who were they realistically gonna get for this fight? It was always going to be someone ****.

Who are these ranked opponents at 168 & 175 that didn't want to fight him?

To put things into perspective, Muhammad Ali fought two top ten ranked contenders in the space of about nine weeks after a three and a half year layoff and signed to fight Joe Frazier immediately after that.

Of course, different era, different men. Ward doesn't have that sort of mentality, otherwise he wouldn't have ducked the second highest rated fighter in his division in Lucian Bute

That they are but no one else wanted to fight him. Read again. That is why he has moved to 175

What a bunch of rubbish. He looked fine against Paul Smith. Acting like he *needs* all these tune-ups is just a way to get his fans to accept the fact that he's all set with fighting competition so subpar the NSAC has to step in and ask him to grow a pair of balls. And given the posts I've seen lately, those fans are totally buying it too.

It didn't need to be someone ****. If his team wasn't sitting on their collective asses they could have gotten a better fight by now - we heard rumblings of Ward on this PPV in late fcuken July and over 3 months later this was the best they could come up with.

That's two underweight crap opponents in a row, for "one of the best P4Ps in the sport". Not a good way to comeback & challenge Kovalev for the LHW crown.

The difference being that Ward is preparing for a mega fight , while GGG the king of ppv flop , is preparing to trump up his next Can with hot air marketing gimmicks to make him appear formidable .
