Ward gets most hate on this site. No one remembers how easily he won the super 8 cleaned out the whole SM division. He barely lost rounds beat Froch with 1 good hand. Didn't cherry pick it was round robin elimination. If he beats Kovalev will Floyd groupies finally give him props? Floyd never fought someone In their prime only Castillo and he lost and corrales he won easy

Well that was 5 years ago and he hasn't done much since yet he's still being represented as if he's still a top fighter (it'd be no different than proclaiming a guy a P4P king just by coming out of retirement but hasn't proven it. The hate is warranted for sure.

That's not true, HBO wanted him to fight Yunieski. Ward turned him down, and Barrera, he wasn't aiming so high

kind of sucks that a more competitive fight, a world title fight in fact, will be pushed off the televised portion of the card for this

This fight is exactly why people are bringing up the rest of Ward's resume in other threads.

The Ward defense squad is out in full force asking us about whose overall competition is the softest to deflect from the fact that back here in the present Ward's competition is softer than cookie dough.

Wrong, Saiko Bika fought Stevenson this year and took him deep. In a tough fight.

Froch dominated Bute, Kessler, George Groves, and Mack after facing Ward. And never called out Ward after those dominating victories.

Chad Dawson was ruined be Ward.

Ward is just a guy that people do not want to face in the 160-168. So he has to go up to a guy like Kovalev who faces all comers. It's not Wards choice that the big money guys don't want to get embarrassed.

Does not change the fact that it happened. And from what I have seen he still looks sharp.

Floyd took a 2 year layoff and then fought once a year for 4 yrs. Doesn't change the fact he dominated.
