Great. Everyone gets to take a quick nap before the main event.

You guys do understand the guy cleaned up the 168 division, and that GGGs baby daddy of a promoter said he would not go up to fight Ward at 168.

So that leaves it up to him to move up to a new weight class. And on short notice this is probably the best he could do. As you notice no one calls out Ward very much.

People are critical of Ward, but the competition the guy faced in the 2 year period before his inactivity was A+. He is now preparing to make the same run in the 175 division, so I do not blame him for testing his skills at a different weight with a tune up. What comes after is not going to be easy with the likes of Kovalev, Pascal, and the runner Stevenson.

It's a worse fight than the Murdock one isn't it? I mean, if people were concerned for Murdocks health as an untested young gun, this is an untested old man.

Why Ward needs yet another tune up bout is beyond me.

I found a copy of Brand-Jack, it was a complete schooling by Brand, and he scored 3 knockdowns that weren't called. No official compubox but would guess the stats were similar to Mayweather-Corrales, only Jack was saved by the bell and it was only an 8 rounder. I assume Haymon used his money to pay off 2 of the judges and then to locate and destroy every copy of the fight, but thankfully the ghost of Jim Jacobs hooked me up. Don't sleep on Brand, he was interim WBC silver champ and DeGale didn't defend against him so obviously that's a duck no questions asked. The commission told Ward he had to fight an ATG, that's the only reason we're seeing this fight. Roach doesn't have parkinsons, he's just still shaking from the aftershock of holding the mits for Brand over a decade ago.

Ward is fighting in November, with all of the particulars for the fight officially hammered out.

I will likely now be hosting a fight party for the PPV; prior to the official Ward announcement, I was likely going to go to a bar to just watch the card.

Andre Ward steps into the ring, does his thing in front of a massive PPV audience, and he'll have all of the buzz that folks say he's lost back (likely setting up a headline show out of Barclays Center, prior to the Kovalev fight).

Ward is likely to be on top form, and the haters will keep hating, lol

He cleaned up the division (aside from Bute) in 2011. All of those guys are retired now apart from Abraham, it's a different division. The only thing Ward has cleaned in recent years is the dust on his world titles.

Same here. Actually before Ward was added I was planning an early night that evening, fuck those boring cunts Canelo and Cotto. Now though I'm going to sell everything I own and hire an IMAX to watch the fight live. Actually no I'll sell a kidney and get front row seats, hopefully I'll be able to hear myself think when the crowd goes crazy for Ward the whole time, no idea why this random 155lb fight isn't on Ward's undercard instead of the other way round.
